Hi there! My husband and I and our twin 11-year-old twins are HUMONGOUS dog fans. No written bio could do justice. Between us, we have more than 90 years of dog ownership and doggy care experience - we consider ourselves the luckiest family in the world because we get to spend hours on end every day snuggling their fluff, rolling with them around on the floor, playing ball and hide and go seek chasing them in the garden, singing improvised operas to them in “their” voices, calling them ridiculous names without them caring, giving them spa treatments, taking them to the beach or on a trail hikes with a friend, and fighting over who gets to sleep with them each night. Plus they force me to get outside and exercise and connect with my neighbors… honestly, I don’t get why everyone doesn’t do this. We travel a lot in the summer and we go skiing a lot in the winter so we decided not to get our own dog because this is such an excellent alternative! I run and/or walk every morning, afternoon, and evening. On occasion, when have a dentist appointment or something, my husband, Ed, takes the doggies with him during the day on adventures or just to work (he works for himself). We also have a wall of glass doors that lead into our spacious fenced in garden. We rarely close the glass doors completely, so the doggies just saunter in and out as they wish. I spend a lot of time in the garden weeding, watering, lounging on the outdoor couches with a doggie or two curled in my lap as I chat on the phone. We are also able to supervise your pup(s) 24x7 and provide transportation to a vet in case of a pup-mergency. Looking forward to caring for your pup, Eve and Ed

Why I love dog sitting We've both owned dogs and grew up with dogs, and LOVE them. The only reason we don't own a dog right now is because we go away often, and so this is the perfect alternative! We can "own" a dog whenever we are available!

Information Eve C. would like to know about your pet

We tend to prefer dogs who are: 1) Small to medium in size 2) Ideally don't shed 3) Come when they're called That's just about it. We love all dogs!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We have an incredible park next door, as well as a dog park (huge) and a back yard. Eve will run or walk your dog in the am and evenings, and Ed will bring your dog with him during the weekday working hours. Your dog's sleeping arrangement We hate to admit it, but sometimes we'll sleep with your dog if s/he's the cuddly type. We are fine with whatever sleeping arrangements you prefer. Time I'll spend with your dog We offer (nearly) 24/7 company. Eve takes the dog to the park in the mornings and evenings, and Ed takes the dog around with him to work during 9am-5pm on weekdays. Eve will usually take the dog all day on weekends, though the two of us are often together on weekends.

Pet care experience

We are HUGE dog fans and life-long dog owners, but soon after our dog babies passed away I got pregnant with twins and now we spend too much time traveling to get another full time doggie. Thank goodness for Rover!!! This is the PERFECT alternative! I walk 10K+ steps/day (every morning, afternoon, & eve) and go to Ohlone Dog Park almost daily. We have a HUGE fenced-in back yard and we leave the back doors open for doggies to explore our beautiful garden and comfy home as they please. We live on a super quiet street a few blocks from the Ohlone dog parks and a nice walk to the outdoor beer garden and outdoor cafes. I’ll send you photos and videos several times a day unless you tell me not to. The four of us will fight over who gets to sleep with your dog, and we’ll cuddle and play with him/her more than 99% of the dog-loving population. We are also happy to help with training and give your doggy a nice bubble bath or spray down and brushing with the garden hose. Trust me, we’re all about the doggies. The one thing is we don’t want doggies who will bark incessantly because we love our neighbors :).

Kanga's tail started wagging the minute she walked into Eve's lovely house, and I'm not sure it ever stopped wagging the whole time she was there! Eve's place is indeed "doggie heaven," as others have noted. Kanga loved the indoor-outdoor flow into the huge yard and garden, and she made herself right at home on the comfy couches. On top of all the play time in the house and yard, Kanga got to go on several walks with Eve and the other pups and got tons of love from Eve's sweet kids. Eve's love for and comfort with dogs (and people as well:)) is extraordinary. She set me right at ease when I dropped Kanga off, and kept me posted with funny videos and texts throughout Kanga's stay. We've found a new favorite sitter, for sure!

We had an amazing experience with Eve!!!! She and her family are so lovely and they have such an inviting home, with an excellent backyard in which dogs can play and roam. Eve is open and friendly and super interesting to talk with. And I felt at ease right off the bat, knowing my Yorkie, Jackson Pollock, would be safe and well cared for. With my permission, Eve and her child took Jackson on a great little excursion and walk and sent me photos. Then, back at home, she spent time cuddling with Jackson. Eve sent me the cutest photos of Jackson looking like he was in Heaven, licking and kissing her. When my husband and I went to pick up Jackson, Eve invited us out to the backyard where we sat and talked for a while. Jackson was clearly incredibly comfortable in that environment. He was totally at ease and didn’t seem in any rush to go home. That’s the best compliment someone caring for another’s dog can receive! When my dog is as happy as he was there, I’m thrilled! I look forward to booking with Eve again in the near future! I highly recommend her as a dog caregiver and as a person! Five stars-plus, plus!!! :-)
