Pet care experience
Hoping to fill the pet-shaped void!
I've always loved animals but I'm not able to keep a pet where I'm living at the moment. I grew up with a cat I adore but who has had to be re-homed as my family house was recently sold, so I don't get to visit her very often and I miss her dearly! She's well into her senior years as she's been with us for about 19(!) years now. She was a stray originally and can be quite nervous or even defensive, but I don't mind when a pet requires a bit more time and patience to bond, and I think I can read cats very well as a result. I've gathered a LOT of experience minding all sorts of pets, including through Rover, and so I think I'm pretty much ready for anything now. I've used Rover and similar platforms in the UK and the Netherlands for a number of years, minding both cats and dogs for different people, some with chronic illnesses or disabilities, or even just very high energy levels, so I'd say I'm well equipped to take care of virtually any pet at this stage, even those with a lot of additional needs. I really never get tired of spending time with a furry friend.

Eva was wonderful. We had to find a housesitter for ten days on short notice and she did a fantastic job, and the cats were quite happy with her as well.
Eva took great care of our two Ragdoll cats, one can be quite aloof but he warmed to her from the start. The boys couldn’t have been more chilled on our return home, I wouldn’t hesitate to book Eva again.
Eva was brilliant with my old and nervous boys, it was so reassuring to know they were in good hands while I was away. She clearly knows how to make friends with cats and it was so lovely to see how they were asking her for head rubs etc when they’re usually really reserved with new people. Thank you!

Eva did a fabulous job looking after our three cats and giving one of them daily subcutaneous fluids. It was a relief to not have to worry about them while abroad! Highly recommend.

Schedule
I'm studying for my PhD at the moment, which means I have quite a bit of flexibility in my schedule. As I don't have somewhere to host pets at the moment, I’m happy to stay in their owner’s home or make trips out either.

Safety, trust & environment
I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance to meet in advance and discuss details of minding a pet at their home, particularly if I can cycle there! I would always be very respectful if staying in someone else's home and would like to think I am a considerate guest.

I will give your pet as much attention as they'd like, whether that's something active like playing or going for a long walk, or just cuddles during downtime.
