I've always loved animals but I'm not able to keep a pet where I'm living at the moment. I grew up with a cat I adore but who has had to be re-homed as my family house was recently sold, so I don't get to visit her very often and I miss her dearly! She's well into her senior years as she's been with us for about 19(!) years now. She was a stray originally and can be quite nervous or even defensive, but I don't mind when a pet requires a bit more time and patience to bond, and I think I can read cats very well as a result. I've gathered a LOT of experience minding all sorts of pets, including through Rover, and so I think I'm pretty much ready for anything now. I've used Rover and similar platforms in the UK and the Netherlands for a number of years, minding both cats and dogs for different people, some with chronic illnesses or disabilities, or even just very high energy levels, so I'd say I'm well equipped to take care of virtually any pet at this stage, even those with a lot of additional needs. I really never get tired of spending time with a furry friend.
