Pet care experience

Your Dog’s New Best Friend 🐾

I’ve been a dog trainer for 5 years and frequently work with animal behavior, loose leash walking, and puppy basics. I’ve also been a dog groomer and bather for 3 years and have worked at various boarding facilities, so I have a lot of hands on experience with animal care and all the everyday parts of caring for dogs. I’ve also worked on an AKC German Shepherd farm doing conformation showing and training, and I’ve fostered 6 puppies that I trained and prepared for their new families — they still keep in touch with me daily! I really enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and understood while they’re in my care.

Schedule

I work part time, so I have plenty of time to care for and play with your pups **(Me and a roomate in the home I will be the sole and only caretaker of your pet throughout the week.)**I live just a few steps from Reaney Park and visit there frequently, so walks and outdoor time are already a regular part of my routine. I have Sundays off every week and am happy to dedicate that day to extra time and attention with your pup.

Safety, trust & environment

My home is dog proofed and set up to be a safe, comfortable place for your pup. I have two very friendly dogs who can interact with your dog if they’re comfortable with each other, or they can be put away if your dog prefers their own space. Both of my dogs are off-leash trained, but when a client’s dog is staying with me, the door does not open unless that dog is safely leashed. We’re 10 steps away from Reaney Park, where client dogs stay on a leash or long line the entire time. We also have a fenced balcony that your dog can enjoy with supervision if you’d like them to have access to it. Inside, there are plenty of appropriate toys to chew on and cords, surfaces, and other hazards are kept out of reach. Your dog will be supervised whenever they’re not safely crated. I love giving dogs as much freedom as they can safely handle, so please feel free to tell me your pup’s expectations, routines, and requirements. I’m happy to follow them and make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day starts around 6 am. with a nice morning walk around the nearby play fields so the pets can get some exercise, sniff, and explore. Once we’re back inside, I like to incorporate some physical and mental stimulation into breakfast, such as simple training exercises, enrichment, or puzzle style feeding. After breakfast, we’ll have some downtime to relax and decompress, often with a favorite hard chew or another safe enrichment activity. Later in the morning, we’ll head out for another walk and spend some time exploring the large park near my house. I really enjoy letting dogs have opportunities to sniff, explore, and enjoy the outdoors rather than just rushing through a walk. Throughout the day, I’ll balance activity with plenty of rest, affection, and individual attention based on each pet’s personality and energy level\. My goal is for them to have a fun, enriching day while also feeling comfortable and cared for\.

Please tell me as much as you can about your pet ahead of time! I want to get to know their personality, routines, likes, dislikes, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and at home. Let me know about anything they strongly love or dislike, their usual routine, favorite activities or treats, and anything that may make them nervous or uncomfortable. Please also tell me about any special needs, medications, dietary restrictions, behavioral quirks, or other accommodations they may need. My goal is to make my home feel as comfortable and familiar as possible for every pet I care for. I want them to have a great experience and, hopefully, be excited to come back!
