Pet care experience

Experienced & active dog walker & pet sitter

From energetic puppies to nervous or reactive rescue dogs i'm confident, patient and experienced. I love helping dogs feel happy, at ease, and cared for. From my current family dog Muppet to all the other dogs I’ve cared for, I’ve got years of experience and am confident handling dogs of all personalities and energy levels. I have extensive experience with dogs that need extra patience or structured care, including following training plans and managing nervous or reactive behaviour. I provide consistent, attentive care for both short and longer stays, ensuring pets feel safe, confident, and happy while their owners are away. I love getting dogs out, keeping them active, and having fun on walks. I’ve also cared for puppies, walked other people’s dogs — including a large elderly dog and multiple dogs at once — and looked after an entire litter. Growing up with rescue dogs I was the one responsible for their training, toilet training, recall, daily care, and helping build confidence. I’m comfortable providing extra patience and calmness where it’s needed. I’m reliable, friendly, and calm, and I always aim to make owners feel completely at ease. I’d love to spend more time with dogs, whether it’s regular walks, playtime, or building a consistent routine. I’m also happy to care for cats — playing with them, feeding, and maintaining litter boxes. I’m happy to take on weekly walks or visits, or one-off care, and provide support however the pet needs it.

House Sitting • Apr 06, 2026

Larry had a great time with Esme! Esme dealt with Larry's energetic nature with natural ease. She was very competent and thorough in her questions leading up to her stay to make things as easy as possible for her and for Larry and therefor we had no concerns whatsoever about leaving Larry in her care. She is a lovely person and we will definitely be booking her again soon!

House Sitting • Feb 16, 2026

This is the second time Emse has been to look after my 'hard work' one year old dog. She did such a lovely job. Great with my pets, followed the dog training plan to the letter and easy to communicate with. Thanks Esme, hope to see you soon!

Dog Walking • Feb 09, 2026

Esme was fantastic. She was really open to my asks on how to manage my dog, who is young and excitable. She had a great way with him. It was clear that she was really experienced with dogs and her professional experience with children gives her a added advantage. Would recommend.

I’m happy to recommend my daughter as a pet sitter, based on many years of seeing how she’s cared for our family dog, Muppet. We got Muppet when she was around 13, and my daughter was responsible for all of her training, from crate training and toilet training to recall and basic obedience. She also taught Muppet extra tricks like lie down and paw and with lots of dedication and care. Muppet has always had a lot of energy, and my daughter is great at matching that excitement when needed. She’s comfortable with high-energy dogs and can also be very patient, calm, and gentle with dogs that are nervous or unsure. She can adapt to whatever the dog needs. She has also had experience pet sitting and dog walking before, including feeding and clearing the litter tray of someone's cat and walking others dogs, including walking a very large elderly dog and walking three dogs at once. She’s very reliable and takes following owner instructions seriously, so I trust her completely with any pet. I know she’d make a great pet sitter and will care for any pet as if it were her own.

Schedule

I have a flexible schedule as an SEN agency teaching assistant, which means I can usually care for pets most days, evenings, and weekends. I’m happy to take on walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting at times that suit you, including regular weekly routines or one-off bookings. I love spending time with animals, getting them moving, playing, and having fun, and I can adapt to different schedules depending on what works best for you and your pets.

I always aim to make owners feel completely at ease while I’m caring for their pets.

A typical day

I love spending time with dogs! A typical day includes walks around the area or park, playing games to keep them active, and I’m happy to practise tricks or recall if the dog enjoys it, and, of course, plenty of cuddles and attention.

Just let me know anything important about your pet — their routines, behaviours, or anything they find challenging — so I can support them in the best way. I’m comfortable and confident adapting to whatever they need. For dogs who need a bit of extra support (for example, if they’re nervous, reactive, or need medication or more structured care), I may adjust my rate slightly to reflect the extra time and attention involved. My standard rate is £45/night, and I’m always happy to chat through any details to make sure it works for both you and your pet
