I work from home, so I am mostly here with the dogs and love to take breaks to go play in our yard or walk them. I only take care of one dog at a time, so your pup will receive plenty of love and attention. I sometimes leave briefly to take my son to school or run an errand but Im happy to bring your dog with me if the weather is safe or if you prefer they stay at home, I’ll be right back.

We have a fully fenced yard and live near walking trails and beaches. I have a crate for dogs who are crate training or like to be crated at certain times. Our dog is here to keep yours company and is easy going about playing with another dog or giving space to a dog, depending on what the dogs decide.

Information Erin N. would like to know about your pet

Dogs do need to be big kid friendly if they are boarding in our home. We don't have babies or toddlers around, but our 11 year old son is home after 3:30pm some days during the week and on weekends. My dog is very excited to meet another dog initially , but she always does calm down and give her new friend space.. We have great compassion for your dog adjusting to a new space and needing extra comfort to settle in, however your dog must be able to sleep through the night, be house trained, be adaptable enough to handle a stay away from you, and be able to be on their own for up to 4 hours. They also must be ok with older kids and other dogs. We are doing this mostly for joy of dogs, and want this to be enjoyable for your dog and for us. If your dog has not been away from you, might not be reliably house trained, is not socialized or has anxiety , this is not the right setting for your dog.

A typical day

We play fetch in the yard, go down to the beach or on a trail or just walk in the neighbourhood. We have a sand pit in our yard for dogs that like to nest and dig ( with owners permission, or I can easily block it) Dogs can also lie at my feet or wherever they are cozy while I work. If they are allowed, treat breaks are such fun! If there is a storm or a reason to be outdoors a bit less and the dog is very active, I throw toys up and down the stairs and furry buddies love it. I also have a dog puzzle with treats for dogs that need the mental stimulation like my dog.

Pet care experience

This is a home away from home setting, specializing in small to medium non-shedding / hypo allergenic dogs that are comfortable being away from their owners. I work from home, so Im mostly here all day with your dog. I also only accept one dog at a time, so your dog will get a lot of focus and care. We have a lovely fully fenced yard that has room to sniff, zoom around and play fetch in. There are beaches and walking trails right outside our door, so walks happen easily and are of high quality. My 11 year old son is a big motivation behind our offering to care for dogs. Many people call my son a “dog whisper” he is wonderful with furry friends. I have also looked after and fostered dogs since I was a teenager. We have great compassion for your dog adjusting to a new space and needing extra comfort to settle in, however your dog must be able to sleep through the night, be house trained, be adaptable enough to handle a stay away from you, and be able to be on their own for up to 4 hours. Erin was wonderful with my doodle and also very accomodating for drop-off and pick-up times as driving took a little longer then expected one day. My dog was very calm and happy when I picked her up so I was glad to know she was well taken care of by Erin.

Erin took such good care of my dog! My pup is shy and Erin is so understanding and helps her to feel at ease. I feel very comfortable leaving her in Erin's care.

Erin is a very trustworthy and responsible pet caregiver. Erin's attention to the safety of the animals in her care is one of her core values in my opinion. I have observed Erin's calm and natural ability to control the dogs in her care. In her natural calm presence, the dogs always feel cared for and safe as boundaries are set for everyone's safety and wellness in mind. I trust Erin to care for my dog with ease, as I know she will take extra care to make sure my dog receives the best care while I am away.
