Our work schedules flex from week to week. My range is that some weeks I work 5 days from home, and on my busiest workweeks, I go into work for four days (3-7 hours) and am home for one day. Dave works a full time job close by and usually has one weekday off (the day varies) as well as Sundays. For extended stays, please be sure your dog would be okay if we are both away for up to 7 hours on a couple of weekdays. We enjoy getting out for walks with the dogs in the mornings and/or evenings (if your dog needs a mid-afternoon walk, it may not be a good fit with our work schedules). On weekends, we like to hang out on the back deck while the dogs play in the yard, or go for longer walks or hikes.

Safety, trust & environment

For safety: When we aren't home, we use a gate to separate Lani and our guest dog(s). We make sure the dogs are supervised when together. Please plan to provide a crate if your dog cannot be left out alone. Bedtime: We ask that dogs be able to sleep on the lower level while we are on the upper floor. If your dog has separation anxiety, this may not be a good fit. Meet and Greets: We do not accept stays without first having a meet and greet. Prior to booking, we will set up a time for our dogs to meet and play in our back yard, to ensure that it is a good fit. NOTE FOR RETURN CLIENTS ONLY: Please note that there are occasional stretches on our calendar that we will mark unavailable because we are not accepting new clients, due to certain circumstances or work obligations. If you are a returning client, please reach out to us about our availability. We may be able to accommodate if we already know your dogs temperament and needs.

Information Erin L. would like to know about your pet

Are there any behavior traits your dog has that I should be aware of before walking or sitting? Will they be okay sleeping in a separate room? Does your dog have any health issues or needs? Any food allergies or preferences? Is your dog okay with their paws being wiped off after going outside on rainy/muddy days? Can your dog go up and down a few steps to go between the house and the yard? (All of our entrances have at least four steps). *Dogs must have up to date vaccinations to stay, and must not have any communicable diseases or illnesses.

A typical day

Walks through the neighborhood or on a park trail Playtime in our large fenced-in yard with lots of shade to stay cool A weekend trip to a dog-friendly patio at a restaurant, coffee shop, or brewery (if you are comfortable with this) Occasionally we will go visit my parents and their dog Scruffers in Sanford (he is 30bs and hasn’t yet met a dog he doesn’t get along with). We will communicate this in advance and make sure it’s okay with you first. *We never bring dogs to a dog park or off leash location as a safety precaution.

Pet care experience

My husband Dave and I are reliable, attentive, caring, dog lovers. We live on a quarter acre of land with a big fenced-in yard, so your pup will have lots of room to run, explore, and play. We have been dog sitting through Rover since 2020. Our dog Lani is always happy to host a new friend!

I couldn’t have asked for a better boarding home for my pup! I was terribly nervous as he has a previous injury that requires some monitoring, and he had never been boarded anywhere other than a friends house. Erin (and Lani) exceeded all of my expectations - from being flexible when travel plans had to change, sending alllll the pictures, being observant when his injury flared quickly, and loving him as their own!! I wish I could rate higher than 5 ⭐️ because they would have it!! Would definitely recommend, and will definitely rebook in the future!

Erin and Dave are the absolute best. They take such great care of our boy while we are gone. Winston loves spending time with them and Lani.

Once again, Erin and Dave have gone above and beyond while taking care of my pup. My dog was well taken care of, loved like their own, and Erin was very responsive during the entire stay. My pooch loves staying with Erin and Dave, it’s her own little vacation!

If you are searching for just the right person to care for your family pet, your search is over! I am so thankful that we met Erin- she is a true gift! We were traveling for an extended time and I literally just relaxed and enjoyed the trip just knowing that our dog Lou was in such good hands. Lou is a rescue with some behavior issues which is where Erin is really amazing. She took everything in stride and I can easily see that Lou got lots of attention and companionship. She is an anxious dog and although she enjoys doggy daycare/and we have had other pet sitters, Lou always comes home stressed out, exhausted, nervous and her eyes look bloodshot. Not this time! This has been a completely different experience, she is visibly calm and shows no signs of stress at all. Erin is also super organized and detail-oriented, she is flexible (I had to change some dates) and she had no reservations about giving the daily medication Lou needs. Erin's communication was excellent, she even sent us daily pictures of Lou! Erin exceeded our expectations at every turn and I hope she will become a regular member of Lou's family for future stays. Thank you Erin and Dave, your care meant the world to us!
