Safety, trust & environment

I have experience caring for pets both at home in a Doggy Daycare and in a veterinary setting. I’m comfortable following instructions, keeping pets safe and happy, and providing plenty of attention and play. At home, I care for my own pets, including a puppy, a senior dog with special needs, a chihuahua with a cleft palate, and six cats, which has given me hands-on experience with feeding, walking, administering medication, and monitoring health.

Information Erin C. would like to know about your pet

Before I care for any pet, I like to know a bit about their personality so I can understand their boundaries and make sure they feel as comfortable as possible. For senior pets or those with special needs, it’s really helpful if you can tell me about any medication they take, how often they need it, the specific times they are administered, or any special extra measures you take to maintain their health.

A typical day

A typical day starts with an early feed, then some playtime and cuddles. After a bit of relaxing, we head out for a walk. When we get back, they can enjoy some downtime. Around lunch I offer a small snack and more play or cuddles if they want them. In the afternoon we go out again for exercise before dinner and rest. On walks, I always let dogs choose whether they want to socialise, play, or just sniff and explore at their own pace.

Pet care experience

I’ve been looking after animals since I can remember, including dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I’ve volunteered for six months at Blackheath Veterinary Practice, giving me hands-on experience with animal care, and I currently work on a 0-hour contract at a doggy daycare, where I regularly care for and manage dogs of different temperaments and energy levels. I’m used to caring for pets with special needs, including my older dog who has dementia, and I also have experience raising and training puppies and kittens. My lifelong love of animals, combined with practical experience, allows me to provide attentive, reliable care for every pet.

Erin was just incredible with my two dogs - she looked after them for me at very short notice and I’ve never felt more reassured. I’ve had a few bad experiences with dog sitters recently and am generally anxious leaving my two, pretty difficult, large dogs with anyone, but Erin was so attentive, easy to communicate with, super flexible, and above all cared for them like they were her own. On our trip my friend and I spent the whole time saying what a gem she was. None of my dog’s behavioural quirks were too much for her or were met with any judgment, and I felt she was genuinely obsessed with them and went above and beyond, even bringing her own nose balm for my girl’s crusty nose and offering to bath them 🥹 The house was also super clean when I got back and I did a very poor job stocking the house and explaining where everything was but she brought her own stuff and didn’t seem to mind. Super duper recommend and will be booking again the first chance I get!!

Cannot rate more highly. Erin did a fantastic job looking after our two cats over the new year. She went the extra mile in caring for them, and cleaning up after them. She sent me excellent updates and photos and we felt we'd left the cats in good, capable and caring hands. We would definitely book Erin again, and highly recommend her.
