Safety, trust & environment

I am experienced in giving both dogs and cats insulin injections and pills. I'm highly familiar with the NW area of DC, and know of parks in that area for dogs that need a long time to stretch their legs and explore. For cats I can stay and play or sit with them, or leave them to do their cat-thing if they so desire.

Information Erin C. would like to know about your pet

How old is your furry friend, what they might like to do for fun, can they have certain treats (allergies), do they enjoy playing with other dogs, are they scared/particularly aware of certain things, do they have a difficult habit that I should to be aware of. I don't have any breed preferences, I've pet sat everything from Great Pyrenees to trembling little Chihuahuas.

A typical day

Go to nearby parks in the area, walking around the neighborhood to check out all the fun smells. If the dog is interested in playing fetch, belly rubs, hanging out with other dogs, tug-of-war, being brushed, being bathed, learning tricks, practicing leash walking, or lounging around, I am happy to comply!

Hello pet parents!

Pet care experience

One of the best experiences of my life has been volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society for six years. I have much experience handling large, strong, dog-reactive, rowdy dogs, as well as timid dogs who need special coaxing. The humane society offers classes in dog training, dog handling, and grooming, which I have taken and learned effective measures for working with dogs and the patience, effort, and empathy it takes to work with them. I had a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix for a long time, who required a lot of attention and multiple walks a day which I had no trouble committing to, even at a young age. I was definitely one of the Dog Girls in elementary school, and I still have a big heart for all animals!
