Pet care experience

A pawsome pet sitter.

I have personally had pets since the day I was born, mostly dogs and cats, but also a snake and hamster, I started pet sitting when I was 14 and have experience with caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, and horses. I know that your pet is a part of the family with a routine, personality, and individual needs so I am very conscientious about owner advice and instructions when it comes to their fur (or not so furry) baby. I love spending time with animals and where I live I can not unfortunately have dogs (I do have two cats though) so I feel the Oppertunity to walk dogs and do check ins on animals would be a fantastic way to get to spend time around them again.

Erin is the absolute best!!! She took care of our 3 fur babies for over a week. They were walked everyday, played with, and she sent daily pictures of the little knuckleheads! My little dog, Albuquerque, is prone to accidents in the house and Erin took care of some of those too. Sorry Erin. But Erin is absolutely great and will love your animals just like, if not more, than you do! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

So happy Erin was available to watch my babies! She is patient and kind . My dogs can behave like gangsters when they are around someone new. Erin won them over and they have made a new friend. I’m grateful she was here for us.

I like to do a meet and greet prior to a sit so the pets have time to learn who I am in the presence of thier humans, while there I go over questions like these; Do they have any known medical conditions or allergies? Are they currently on any medications? If so, what are the instructions? What is their typical feeding schedule and portion size? Where is their food stored? Are there any treats or dietary restrictions? What is their potty routine? Do they need to be walked or let out at specific times? Do they use pee pads, a litter box, or go outside? How do they behave on walks (pulling, aggression, anxiety, etc.)? What is their exercise/play routine? Are there favorite toys or games they enjoy? What are signs they are anxious, ill, or need something? How do they typically behave when left alone? Do they get along with other pets or animals? Are there specific commands or cues they know (e.g., sit, stay, no)? Are there any behaviors I should watch out for (e.g., chewing, escaping, resource guarding)? Where are cleaning supplies for accidents located? Where should I dispose of pet waste (litter, poop bags, etc.)? Are there rooms or furniture that are off-limits? Is there a specific area they sleep or nap in? What should I do if there’s a thunderstorm, fireworks, or loud noises? Where are the leashes, poop bags, carriers, or crates stored? Do they need to be crated when left alone or overnight? Should I check the mail, water plants, or do anything else while I’m there? What vet or emergency clinic should I contact if needed? Is there a preferred emergency contact other than yourself?
