I’ve been a pet sitter for cats and dogs for over ten years as a college student, graduate student, and now as a public health data analyst working 100% from home. I have several loyal clients in Orange and Los Angeles County within and outside of the Rover community and really love this therapeutic side hustle! I love animals beyond measure and grew up with many pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and turtles.

I focus on risk mitigation as I know how valuable our pets are to our families and hearts. I always carry pepper spray during walks, and make sure that your fur babies are in close proximity to me as much and often as often as possible. I know both cats and dogs can snap up random objects or get into trouble in a blink! Making sure to prevent heat exhaustion and heat exposure during the summer months is something I take seriously. I supply multiple water sources while pet sitting during heat waves. I also stay weary of hot concrete during walks. I grew up in a home full of pets whom all lived well into their double digits so I am familiar with all stages of animal life and the sensitivity that each requires. I am knowledgeable in common pet illnesses and can spot abnormal behavior well. I can provide specialized care if needed during dog or cat sits, whether it’s administering oral medication, topical ointment, wound care/bandaging, injections, or subcutaneous fluids. I am happy to assume other specialized care that your pet may require as well. Just teach me the ropes before you leave! In addition to caring for your pet, I believe caring for your home is equally important for the safety and well-being of both my paw clients and their parents! I will water your plants to keep your fur baby’s yard in optimal play condition, leave your home as clean or cleaner than I found it, retrieve your mail/packages, and assume garbage duty.

Erika was great with our three dogs in Huntington Beach. They are all personalities and she took the responsibility very well in hand. She was great with communication and seeking to understand our preferences. Most importantly, our dogs seemed to love her and she gave them a lot of care and affection as well; thanks, Erika!

Erika was wonderful with our dog Willow, who can be shy and introverted with new people. She sent us many pics and updates throughout the days we were gone which really put our minds at ease. Not only did she take great care of Willow, but also our home and our koi! We will be using her again soon for a longer trip to Europe.

Erika did a wonderful job looking after our dog while we were overseas. We appreciated multiple photos and messages about how our dog was doing throughout the day. We felt at ease knowing that our dog was in good hands while we were away.

Schedule
For overnight stays at your home: I work from home full time so I can be with your fur baby all day and give as many potty breaks as needed! I am athletic and can provide as much activity your dog needs for the day if they are especially active. Your peace of mind is important to me so I will typically send an update over text approximately every 4 hours, but let me know if you'd prefer a different text schedule! For drop-ins: I am very flexible about my drop-in visits and enjoy squeezing in a complimentary dog walk! If you need me to stay with your pet longer than the indicated 30 minutes I am open to customizing a duration that you feel would best meet your fur baby's needs.
