I have a wonderful full-time career in the non-profit sector at a lung cancer research foundation, which allows me to work remotely. This affords me time and flexibility to show up and care for your pet (and home) with the level of love and attention you desire. No day is typical because every pet and pet parent is unique. I adapt to keep your pet’s schedule consistent while you are away!

Information Erika H. would like to know about your pet

I love to have a clear picture of your and your pets' needs and expectations. It is also important to me to provide regular communication on how your pet is doing. My schedule is extremely flexible, so I want to make sure I meet your expectations and appropriately take care of your pet and home, no matter the needs.

A typical day

I love to get active with pups in whatever way they enjoy most! We can play fetch, frisbee, go on long walks, just let me know what their preferences are, and we will make it happen and keep them safe and happy!

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Erika, a lifelong animal lover who grew up on a Nebraska farm surrounded by animals of all kinds. I took a break from Rover while caring for my senior dog through the final stage of her life, but this work-from-home nonprofit leader is excited to open here home to dogs again. I have experience with all kinds of pets, but I especially shine with dogs (and pet parents) who need a little extra attention. That might mean managing separation anxiety, giving medications to a stubborn pup, caring for seniors, or helping energetic dogs burn off their zoomies on long “sniffaris.” And if you’re the kind of pet parent who likes updates, you’re in good company; I was that dog mom too. I love sharing frequent photos and updates so you can relax knowing exactly how your pup is doing. A few things about my home and care style: • My fiancé and I both work from home, so dogs are rarely (if ever!) left alone • Comfortable environment for small and medium dogs; larger dogs are welcome, but tend to do best here if they’re older or more mellow • Experienced with medications, senior care, special routines, picky eaters, and separation anxiety • Lots of snuggles, walks, and very personalized attention. I’m highly attuned to each dog’s needs! Professionally, I lead fundraising at a national nonprofit organization (from home!), and I bring that same level of responsibility to caring for your pet. My goal is simple: help your dog feel safe, loved, and completely at home while you’re away (and keep you at ease while you’re apart).

Erika did a fantastic job caring for our dogs. Since this was our first vacation in several years, I was nervous about leaving them for an extended period. Lincoln, our senior, requires multiple medications and supplements, and Bella struggles with separation anxiety. Erika and Ryan were so reassuring during the meet-and-greet that I felt at ease immediately; seeing Bella flip over for belly rubs was the best sign! While we were away, we received photo and video updates twice a day. I loved her comments and how she picked up on our dogs personalities 😊 It was clear the dogs were happy, enjoyed their numerous walks, and was never left alone. I’m so grateful to have found Erika and Ryan —they truly understood our dogs' needs and gave them so much love!

Erika is the best dog sitter ever! She is a true animal lover who will go above and beyond to ensure your dog is well cared for, loved, and happy. She’s an excellent communicator, patient, nurturing, kind, consistent, trustworthy, and organized. I highly recommend Erika for all of your dog sitting needs!

I have two cats under 2 years old and Erika has always been great with them! Of course, she does all the necessary stuff (food, water, scooping). She also gives them the attention they need as more energetic and social cats. Mochi and Crayon feel comfortable around her when she's around which isn't true of everyone!
