We have a pretty flexible schedule so can do drop-in visits or walks pretty much any time throughout the day. When housesitting, Mark and/or I can be there as much as needed to keep your furry friends happy. (Please note we do not offer 24/7 care, but overnight is always included)

We love to have a check in first to see what your dog’s specific needs are. That way we know what behaviors to expect and how to ensure they feel comfortable and safe. Routines, habits, favorite places to walk, best ways to approach if they are wary of strangers, special commands etc. All helpful! (For walks/drop ins- this information can be shared by phone. For housesittings- in person or video call is preferred)
A typical day
Walks, quiet and cuddly visits, playtime, whatever your needs are, we can do it. We enjoy going at the pace that your dog enjoys, so walks are fun for everyone. Sniff every tree, why not! Or keep moving and we both get a workout! Drop in visits and sitting both involve lots of playtime and snuggling and cuddling. If that’s what your furry friends like! We are also well-acquainted with skittish/shy animals. We can give plenty of space and calm quiet care. Our goal is to ensure everyone, animals and their people, feel good about the care they are getting.

Hi! I’m Erika. I have been caring for dogs through DogVacay and Rover for over 15 years. I live with my daughter near the beach in Oxnard. A great place for walking dogs! About me- I have always had a dog in my life. I wouldn't know true happiness in life if it weren't for my dogs! I grew up with an Australian Shepherd, followed by a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and a 110 lb Lab/Shepherd mix. Along with the cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, birds, mice, turtles and a tarantula that made up our childhood menagerie! I was lucky enough to have my last dog Loki for 14 years before I said goodbye to him in 2024. Until I can have another of my own, I am fortunate enough to care for all of the amazing dogs (and cats) I am entrusted with. I am always happy to take some adventures with new four-legged friends. I really enjoy building long-lasting relationships with my dog clients and their humans. I am happy to come walk your dog during the day while you're at work or on vacation or if you just need to work late. I walk at your dog's pace, for exercise or just to stop and smell the roses. Walks are customized for the dog's needs. If your dog just likes to mosey and sniff, that's what we do. If they need an active walk, I come prepared to get them some exercise! I also love to hike, so if that's something your dog likes, I'm happy to do that too! (Please note- Scheduled walk time will need to include commute time to/from trail) For house-sitting, most days consist of snuggling in the morning, a nice walk, breakfast, play, lunchtime potty walk, long walk in the evening, dinner and more play, final quick potty then bed! Let me know what your dog prefers to do, I am happy to adapt our day to make your dog feel comfortable and stick to routines. (Please note: my regular client walks continue during sitting so I am not available to stay with your pet 24/7 as I am in and out during the day). Just let me know your needs and I will work with you! For housesitting, I always prefer a meet and greet whenever possible, in person or virtual. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have! Please note: *Sitting is on a 24 hour window. After 24 hours, day care charges will apply, at the rate of $50 (1/2 day care) and $75 (full day care). **Increased rates apply for holidays and holiday weekends (President's day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's) and for puppies that aren't yet housebroken! ***Administration of meds or Additional Medical care is $10 a day or more depending on care needed or upon assessment of dog’s well being. ****additional fee of $15/visit for drop-ins, walks and sittings outside of service area- please inquire!
