I have always loved dogs. I grew up with a black lab (age 5-18), and when I was in high school I frequently watched dogs and cats in a pet sitting capacity. Pet sitting for neighbors and friends was my first job, and as soon as I got my drivers license, I expanded my pet sitting clientele. As an adult, my husband and I had a rescue dog (Pitt/lab mix) who was our fur baby. When we adopted her, she had separation anxiety and resource guarding issues. We worked with a trainer to help her overcome those issues, and were grateful for the wonderful years we enjoyed with her. Unfortunately, she died in early 2025. While we are not in a position to have our own dog right now, we would love to continue to snuggle and support local dogs through pet sitting. We do have a toddler at home. She loves dogs and we would never leave her unattended with any animal. While we will be careful to ensure any dogs in our care are set up for success by being separated from our toddler with baby gates, etc., we are only able to host dogs who are comfortable around small children.
