I’ve cared for dogs my entire life and have spent time volunteering with dog rescues and veterinary organizations. I raised and cared for my own dog for 16 years, from puppyhood through her senior years and passing, so I understand how a dog’s needs change throughout every stage of life. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, basic training, and administering medication. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting to each dog’s personality, energy level, routine, and medical needs. After losing my longtime companion, I now have an empty nest and would love to provide a safe, affectionate home for other dogs while their families are away.

First and foremost, Erika is a dog lover! She demonstrates this through her initial loving canine connection and by providing excellent care throughout my dog's stay. She's sensitive to my dog's specific needs, diet and favorite playtime activities. Erika utilizes the commands that I use with my dog and he responds to her praise and positive reinforcement. I leave my dog knowing he will have a great time and will be extremely well cared for. I trust her with his well-being. Extra bonus: Erika is knowledgeable about different breeds, dog body language and appreciates how each dog has its own unique way of interacting.
Erika loves dogs and is extraordinarily knowledge about them. With her own dogs, she has acted as a vet tech when they needed medical attention, especially as they have aged. She has cared for my dogs for 15 years, always treating them with care and respect. In addition to caring for them, she has also trained them with compassion, consistency and love, coupled with large doses of positive reinforcement, and while under her responsibility, acted as if they were her own. I can think of no safer and healthier place for them than with her.

Schedule
I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of companionship and supervision throughout the day. I enjoy morning and evening walks or hikes, along with frequent outdoor, play, and bathroom breaks. I’m happy to adjust activities based on your dog’s age, mobility, energy level, and usual routine.

My home has a fully fenced grassy yard and a large dog door for convenient outdoor access. There is also a park directly across the street and a fenced dog park nearby. I prioritize safety, communication, and consistency. I’m careful about introductions, feeding routines, medications, leash safety, and any behavioral or medical needs you share with me. I want both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident throughout their stay.
A typical day
I like to let each dog’s personality shape the day. Some dogs want an active companion and plenty of play, while others are happiest napping nearby while I work. I’ll follow your dog’s usual rhythm as closely as possible, including wake-up times, meals, walks, play, quiet time, and bedtime. I also make time for one-on-one attention, mental stimulation, and any training games or commands they already know.
