Pet care experience
Medical student, lover of animals.
As a fourth-year medical student aspiring to work in the Emergency Department, I have been trained in treating minor-to-major wounds and recognizing emergencies in patients such as heatstroke and poisonings. Though I find genuine fulfillment in caring for human beings, I have always loved caring for animals beginning with my two cats as a 10-year-old as well as visiting my cousins' German shepherd and golden retriever. I now care for two new female cats who are 2 and 4 years old. I have only experienced dog care in short stints, bathing and walking my friends' dogs if they went out of town. Though I would love to get more hands-on experience caring for dogs.

I think preparation will be my best friend as I know pets have their own personalities, body language, and habits. Unfortunately, I do not think I'll be able to care for pets in my home as I am not sure how my cats act around dogs. However, if entering owners' homes I will strive to follow any rules and keep your pet happy!

Schedule
Currently, I am in my fourth and final year of medical school which I have realized has actually provided a decent amount of free time compared to the prior 3 years. For this reason, I wanted to pick up caring for pets around the neighborhood on a part-time basis. I would likely be able to care for dogs and cats around 3-4 times per week with either frequent check-ins or overnight stays.
