I value safety and I understand the importance of keeping your pets safe. When working with new animals, I like to begin by providing food or treats. This tends to soothe temperaments. If I'm just meeting the animal, I will talk to them softly while they eat. After they eat, I make sure they have access to the bathroom. When working with a new dog, I am conscious of my movements. I try to encourage play and interaction without making the animal feel trapped or cornered. Before leaving a client's home, I double-check that the animals are taken care of, the stove is off, and the doors are locked.

A typical day
For fun, I like to sprint with dogs and encourage them to run around. If they will play fetch, so will I. I like to get dogs sniffing with hidden treat puzzles. I take photos of them in natural light. I like to get still pictures of the wiggliest ones.

I’m a professional pet sitter. I have experience with a variety of species, including dogs, cats, fish, and chickens. I grew up with big dogs. I started pet-sitting almost ten years ago. I’ve slowly grown my business to be able to offer services in a limited range outside of the greater SE Portland metro area. Outside of pet care, I work part-time, so I am able to spend most of the day with your pets. I usually have my calendar updated 2-3 months in advance. All of my house-sitting bookings include complimentary light housekeeping. My favorite aspect of animal care is bonding and learning to communicate with each individual.

Erica watched our two “Velcro” Frenchies for several days and is fantastic! She communicated with us to let us know how things were going daily and was very respectful while staying in our home. I would definitely recommend her to babysit your pet!
A couple of months ago I went on a 7 day vacation and left my dog with Erica at her house. I left him with a bag full of his favorite toys, treats and food along with his dog bed. Throughout my trip she sent me photos of him on leash walks on her farm and pictures of him trying out some her dogs chew toys. My dog barely even wanted to leave when I came to pick him up. She had someone with him 24/7 and took him out frequently on her farm with her own dog. She even mentioned that my dog was more comfortable in her room during bed time on some blankets rather than his bed, so she made a nice sleeping space that he was happy in so that he could sleep with her. I was also impressed to discover that my (rescued) dog who had known no tricks, does know tricks in Spanish and that Erica discovered this when bonding with him. Erica will be the only person I ask to watch my dog on vacations going forward, she did such a great job and was so attentive that I had no hesitation volunteering to review her new pet sitting service profile.
