Pet care experience
❤️ Seniors & Special Needs
📍 LOCATION: Paradise Mountain area of Valley Center ⏰ The majority of my Rover requests have been last-minute, which I am typically able to accommodate. Feel free to message me and ask! I grew up here in Valley Center and Escondido, as well as in Colorado. My family always had a large number of pets, and a variety of them. I've been the proud owner of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, goats, and ducks. As an adult, I turned my passion for animals towards volunteering for local rescue orgs like Frosted Faces and San Diego Pug Rescue. I've volunteered on-site caring for animals, done rescue drives from shelters to foster families, and fostered multiple animals myself. My soft spot is senior animals, so special needs pets are no deterrent for me. I've changed plenty of diapers, guided plenty of deaf and blind dogs, and cared for hospice animals. I can medicate on schedule, and know all the tricks for getting those pills down or eye drops in. As a pet owner myself, I have a very relaxed pack of my own at home that includes some seniors of mixed sizes and breeds. We also have two rabbits who live in the kids' rooms, two ranch cats, two goats, and six ducks. I genuinely love animals, and I have no breed restrictions. Because of the set-up of my home, your pet could either roam with my pack or have their own space, whichever is most comfortable for all! Most importantly, they will be showered with love and attention while they are with me and my kiddos (10 & 12 and fellow seasoned volunteers!)

Erika provided multiple videos and pictures and kept in constant contact with me. I felt very comfortable with her and the dogs. I will definitely use her again if she’s available

Erica was awesome.

Erica was amazing with my pups! We received pics and updates throughout their stay. My pups were well taken care of and comfy with Erica and her family. Thank you for taking care of my dogs on short notice too ❤️❤️❤️

Erica loves dogs and so I knew she was the right one to care for my boy while I was away. It felt good to leave town knowing he was in good hands. Highly recommend!

Erica took great care of our 9 year old golden retriever. She was quick to respond to any questions and sent several pictures to show how well our dog was doing. Erica definitely treated our dog as if she were her own. Thank you, Erica!

I cannot recommend Erica enough! She was an absolute blessing for my first real experience with a dog sitter. She treated my dog as if he were her own, catering to his needs, playing with him, and ensuring he was happy and comfortable the entire time. She also respected and followed all the house rules I provided, which gave me such peace of mind. Her kindness, care, and attention to detail truly made this a wonderful experience. I’m so grateful to have found her and will definitely be booking with her again!

Schedule
My work is mostly remote, so I schedule boarding for when I am home with your pet! I will treat your pets like family, and work my day around their typical needs. Do they like to play fetch? We will play fetch! Are they nappers? Me, too! I also have a bit of a commute on the days I DO work, so I am more than happy to arrange a pick-up for a small additional fee if you cannot drop off your fur babies.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have 2 1/2 acres of fenced property, however, I walk my own dogs (and any staying with me) on walks, much like I would at a park. This is for safety -- foxtails, snakes, red ants, and all of those are too easy to stumble upon if the dogs roam. Due to fostering and rescuing so many animals ourselves, my kids and I have adapted our home to be very pet friendly. We have small fence just outside the front door that creates a tiny yard for small dogs to go out and relieve themselves (with supervision, of course!). We have a baby gate blocking the base of the stairs, so no one can go up without us (or fall!). We have doggy stairs for our couch. We have a portable baby crib with a dog bed and a clip on fan for littles (our chihuahua and pugs have LOVED this) to nap or eat away from everyone. We have dog beds and bowls throughout the house, so no one has to look for water. Our home is air conditioned in summer and heated in colder months. Pets are allowed on our furniture, unless they are not allowed to do that in your home --in which case they won't be allowed here either.
Pets
A typical day
We have a large property we will explore when the weather permits. There is so much to sniff and find and, if they want to, dig! We have boxes of toys to play with, and we love giving doggie massages.
