I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to be present for most of the day, which means plenty of companionship, regular potty breaks, and attention throughout the day—not just quick visits. For house sits, I typically spend the majority of my time in your home, working remotely while keeping your pet company. I build my day around their routine—whether that’s morning walks, midday playtime, or sticking to specific feeding and medication schedules. I do have some occasional after-work activities, but I plan those around your pet’s needs to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. I’m also available for overnights and weekends, so your pet will have reliable, consistent care whether you’re away for a short trip or longer stay.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are always my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely to keep things consistent and comfortable while you're away. Unless given specific instructions about off-leash walks, I don't do them unless w're in a securely fenced area, and I always double-check leashes, harnesses, and gates for a secure fit and peace of mind. When entering and exiting your home, I’m extra mindful of potential escape artists—I never leave doors open and will follow any guidelines you have in place to keep curious pets safely indoors. I’m also used to living with food-motivated sneaks, so it’s second nature for me to stash food safely away (microwave, high counter, pet-proof drawer—you name it!) even if I’m stepping away for a second. It helps keep your pet safe—and ensures I actually get to eat my snack. I’m respectful of your space and your pet’s boundaries, whether that means sticking to a strict feeding schedule, keeping them off the couch, or crating when needed. I’ll send periodic updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and cared for. I also take the responsibility of being in your home seriously—any key, code, or access method you provide will be kept secure, and I’ll make sure everything is locked up safely when I leave.

Information Erica C. would like to know about your pet

I always want to make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable, so the more I can know ahead of time, the better! It’s helpful to know things like: • Their usual routine (feeding times, walks, playtime, etc.) • Any medical needs, allergies, or medications • Where their food, treats, toys, water bowl, and medications are kept • Behavioral quirks—are they shy, reactive on walks, or afraid of loud noises? • How they are with strangers, kids, or other animals • What comforts them if they get anxious • Where they’re allowed in the house (furniture, beds, off-limits rooms) • And of course—any little habits or preferences that make them them I want to care for your pet the same way you would, so don’t hesitate to share the details, big or small. It all helps me give them the best care possible!

A typical day

Every pet is different, so I try to match their energy and preferences to make sure they feel comfortable and entertained. For dogs, a typical day might include a nice walk (or a long one if they’re high-energy), some playtime with their favorite toys, and lots of belly rubs or couch cuddles. If they’re into games, we might play fetch, tug-of-war, or do a little training reinforcement for fun and mental stimulation. For cats, we might start with a calm visit and a slow introduction (especially for the shy ones), followed by some bird-watching at the window, laser pointer chases, or batting around toys for those sudden bursts of zoomies. I’ll keep them company while I work, and we might even watch a little Cat TV together if they’re into it. Throughout the day, I make sure their routines stay on track—feeding, potty breaks, medications if needed—and give them plenty of love and attention in the process. My goal is always to keep them happy, safe, and relaxed until you’re back.

Pet care experience

I’m a lifelong animal lover who works from home, which means I have the flexibility to give your pet the attention they deserve throughout the day. I maintain a consistent routine during house sits, occasionally sharing quiet evenings with my husband. Whether your dog needs long walks to burn off energy or your senior cat just wants some quiet company while they nap, I’ll make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and cared for in their own home. I know that every pet is different, with their own unique quirks, needs, and personalities—and I take the time to get to know each one. I’ve cared for everything from zoomy puppies to wise old kitties, and I’m comfortable with medication, special diets, and pets who need a little extra patience or encouragement. I also have a soft spot for quirky behaviors—if your dog spins in circles before dinner or your cat insists on drinking from the faucet, I’m here for it. What sets me apart? I treat every pet like family, with personalized care, lots of love, and a healthy dose of silly voices to keep tails wagging and whiskers twitching. ----- My Support System (Andy 🐾) I’m the primary sitter and will be the one staying overnight and managing your pet’s care. My husband Andy sometimes joins me in the evenings, and occasionally stays overnight—though he often heads home to stay the night with our own pets. He’s great with animals—especially cats (total cat whisperer energy 😄)—and also enjoys playing with dogs, particularly games like tug that energetic pups love. He grew up on a farm caring for a wide variety of animals, so being around them comes very naturally to him. When helpful, he can assist with things like walking multiple dogs or supporting high-energy households. During busy times, he may also help with drop-in visits so that all pets receive timely, attentive care. This setup helps me maintain a consistent routine and provide high-quality, reliable care for your pets ----- Optional: Bringing Onyx Along My 10-year-old chihuahua, Onyx, sometimes likes to join me on house sits—he loves having dog friends to hang out with instead of staying home with his cat siblings. If you’re comfortable having him along, just let me know! It’s totally optional, and I never expect it. If it’s not the right fit, no worries at all—Onyx stays home with my husband. And even if you’re open to it, safety is always my priority. If either of us feels it’s not the best match, Onyx will head back home with his dad.

We had a great experience with Erica and would absolutely recommend her to other pet owners. She took the job seriously, followed all of our instructions carefully, and was very receptive to the guidance we provided about our more challenging dog. She also took extra care with our elderly, reclusive cat - giving her the attention she deserves but often doesn’t get with a high energy pup for a sister. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing both of our pets were in such attentive and thoughtful hands. Everything went smoothly overall, no major issues, and we came home to a clean, well kept house. Overall, a very positive experience. We would definitely book with her again. Thanks for everything, Erica and Andy!

Erica did a great job watching our yellow lab Maddie during our two week vacation. She gave Maddie lots of cuddles and activity, gave us frequent photo updates, was easy to communicate with, and was very flexible when we decided to extend our vacation last minute. She also took great care of our house. Would definitely recommend her!

Erica took incredible care of our crew while we were out of town. She was so communicative, sent lots of pictures. We have a young Bengal who requires a lot of attention and she took him on walks with the dogs in his backpack and walked him on his harness. She took extra care with our senior dog as well to ensure she ate (she can be picky). All the animals were happy and comfortable when we got back home. Can’t recommend enough!!
