Hi there! I grew up in a house with 1 cat. I adopted my first cat independently in 2009 and my dog, a black pug in 2012. Both have since passed away last year. I have a 2 year old cat now and a 9 year old cat, who are both very friendly and social (or sometimes hiding), but the house is missing that doggy love feeling. Your dog must get along well with cats or be ambivalent toward them. I love animals and treat them like children with lots of love and attention. I have 2 young kids who can also love on them and play with them. I also have experience giving medication to pets. My cat that passed away at the age of 14 had a seizure disorder for the last 8 years of his life and required pills twice a day. My dog that passed at the age of 11 had Cancer and required regular medication to provide him with relief of symptoms.
