I walked dogs with a company for 4 years while living in New York City. The company specialized in individual household care, walking only the dogs of the household at a time. So no mess of leashes, just one-on-one (or two) dogs at a time. (I even got to walk Jimmy Buffett's dogs while working there) I cared for all manner and breed of dog, from ones that never ran out of energy and loved everyone, to dogs that just wanted to sit on the couch and didn't care about other dogs. And before that, my family always had at least one dog around while my mother trained puppies to be service animals. I have also provided care for cats over the years, having lived with them and cared for cats in dog/cat homes. My care for animals runs deep, and I love to see them get what they need to really be happy and healthy. I pay close attention to each animal and try to understand what they need and meet them where they're at, from unruly puppies to senior dogs in their sunset years.

Having worked as a professional dog walker (just 1-2 dogs at a time, as to better give individual attention and care), I know how important it is to clients to be able to rely on a caregiver and trust their pet is in good hands. Each animal has their own needs that need to be accounted for, and those needs may change depending on the day or time of year. Being attentive, creative, and willing to go the extra mile means I'm giving each pet the best care I can each time.

Eric has been a great dog sitter for us! He truly "gets" dogs. Our dog is energetic and wants to do a lot with "her person." Eric knows how to play, train, and relax with her. He is dependable, super communicative, and sends great photo updates while we are away, which is fun and gives me peace of mind. We have had Eric stay overnight in our home and dog sit and it has worked out great. He has left the place as clean as when he arrived. This has given us added peace of mind and it is great that our dog gets to have overnight company without leaving home. I can’t recommend Eric enough—anyone on Rover would be lucky to have him care for their pet.
Eric took wonderful care of my dog while I was on vacation, and he has also been available for last-minute walks whenever I needed help. He is dependable, caring, and clearly loves animals. I always feel confident leaving my dog in his care, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a responsible and loving pet caregiver.
We are so pleased with the care Eric provided for our three pups while we were away. It is evident how much he genuinely cares about dogs. While we were away, Eric was super responsive and sent photo updates, which we greatly appreciated! When we got home, Arlo, Poppi Mae, and Edison were all so happy, relaxed, and clearly well-cared for. Eric is professional, trustworthy, and wonderful with dogs. We will definitely be reaching out to him again to take care of our hounds!
I have known Eric for a long time and have seen him always show respect to people, animals and things. Over those years, I have witnessed his kind love and care for animals. He tries to see the world through the their eyes. His natural sensitivity allows him to understand dogs and their needs quickly and accurately. He has cared for many of my dogs in the past, both professionally and personally, and always does an excellent job.

Beyond his fascination with and compassion for all kinds of wildlife, he builds genuine relationships with the pets in his life—our family dog, the dogs and cats of friends and family, and the many dogs he cared for as a dog walker. He takes the time to understand each animal as an individual, meeting them where they are and providing personalized care, affection, play, mental stimulation, exercise, and whatever else they need to thrive. Eric has pet sat for me many times, and I trust him completely with my special-needs cat. Eric is a wonderful human being that all creatures will immediately be drawn to. My dog Stark who is usually skittish was immediately charmed by Eric. He has considerable experience with dogs, his own and others. His work walking dogs in New York City was what first made me believe he would be the right choice to pet sit and watch our dogs when we are away. I'm currently self-employed, so I'm able to offer flexible availability to best suit the needs of each pet owner. I've grown up around pets and care deeply for their well-being, so I know how important it is for both owners and pets for the animals to get timely care and exercise.
