Availability
I’m currently looking for daily opportunities to spend more time with dogs and provide the opportunities they need for exercise and human companionship. I’m very keen on early morning and evening walks during the summer but available most days.

Our late dog was a shepherd/retriever mix,I regularly took her to the dog park to play with her friends or to run the short agility course I trained her to run when she was young. I am always on the lookout for poison ivy or possible tick habitats and careful to help the dog manage in potentially stressful situations along the way. I always stop at street corners and do not proceed until all cars have passed (even the ones that insist you go first) so that the dog will understand that we do not cross the street when cars are present.

Information Eric S. would like to know about your pet
What's the schedule for feeding, bedtime etc. What commands does the dog know? What are his favorite things to do? Does he have any destructive behaviors? (i.g. chewing household items) Is there anything that triggers an undesirable reaction? How does he do with other dogs, children, mailmen?
A typical day
Outside: Explore a park Hike a trail Play fetch Work on obedience Indoors: Play "find the bits of treat" hidden around the living room or in the dog toy

Dog’s best friend
Pet care experience
I have a reputation at the dog park for the dogs flocking to me as I arrive. I teach them to jump through the agility equipment and roll over. I run with them and give them plenty of scratches and hugs. Our late dog was my hiking companion along the C&O Canal (a five minute walk from our house), local segments of the Appalachian Trail, local parks and the woods and historic district of Harpers Ferry.
Reviews
You could not ask for a better pet sitter and pet lover than Eric S. He is drawn to dogs especially and they to him. At the local dog park we call him the dog whisperer, because when he walks in the gate, all of the dogs run to meet and greet him. I guess it doesn't hurt that he carries treats in his pockets! But, even without the treats, they automatically go to him! He and my Franz (a Bernadoodle) are best buds and Eric has him sitting, staying, jumping fences and through hoops, and rolling over at the slightest command. Eric recently lost his own dog, Lucy, prematurely to cancer. Since then, he's been asking all of us if he could borrow our dogs to go for walks! He's always prompt and responsible, and he carries water (and treats of course unless you tell him not to!). The dogs always come back wagging their tails in delight and very sorry to see him leave. Franz watches him from the living room window as he leaves and goes down the sidewalk, already missing his friend and eagerly awaiting his return. You could not ask for a more sensitive, caring and compassionate and responsible person to care for your animals.
When Eric arrives at our dog park all the dogs come running to see their favorite human! He knows each one by name, and they take turns waiting for Eric’s famous belly rubs! Eric is a master bird photographer and he brings that sensitivity and intuition to our dogs. What a gift he is to the animal world! Recently Eric lost his dear dog Lucy to old age. I would GIVE Eric my dog if I didn’t love him so much myself!
There is no I would recommend to watch my rambunctious golden doodle and cranky old Aussie. He is a professional photographer so I get amazing photos during their hikes. I can tell when he is with my dogs he’s excited to see them as they are to see Eric.
