I grew up in a house that always had animals. Dogs, cats, and a stream of injured wildlife my dad brought home to nurse back to health, including a baby deer and a raccoon. We even had gerbils, hamsters, parakeets, and fish. Caring for animals has been part of daily life from the time I was born. I’ve lived with large breeds such as Great Pyrenees, Bernese Mountain Dogs; as well as energetic breeds like Australian Shepherds, Chows, and mixed breeds, so I’m very comfortable with big dogs and strong personalities. Family members with smaller dogs regularly relied on me for care, and for the past ten years I’ve house- and dog-sat for an elderly family friend. I’m attentive, patient, and observant, especially with animals that are nervous, aging, or need a calm presence. As a large, steady person, I’m confident handling big dogs on walks and in new situations, and I’m just as comfortable providing gentle, consistent care for smaller pets.

I provide care in my client’s home so pets can stay in the space they know. I follow their established routine closely with feeding, walks, litter care, medications if needed, and regular attention. I keep the home tidy, watch for behavior changes, and keep owners updated. With my own cats, I manage specialized diets, daily litter and cleaning, social time, and close observation of their health and behavior. I’ve cared for some of them from birth and have also supported pets through illness and end-of-life stages. That experience carries into how I care for every animal: patient, attentive, and respectful of their comfort and needs.

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I structure my days from home. I’m used to planning around feeding schedules, walks, litter care, and regular check-ins throughout the day. This allows me to be consistent, present, and flexible with visits, walks, or overnight stays, and to give pets real attention rather than rushing through care.
