I saved my Chihuahua, Thistle, from a kill shelter when he was 18 months old. I nursed him through being hit by a car, helped him gain weight from being underfed, and encouraged him to be a confident dog (he was extremely anxious) through training and gentle love and care. From this, I learned how to administer medications to animals, so I can provide this kind of care to your fur babies also. My Chihuahua is now a senior dog, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how active he is! He gets lots of walks and play time, and he loves it best when I get on the floor with him. I am comfortable getting to know your pet and giving them the level and type of attention that they need! I looked into breed specific care, and Chihuahuas have weaker joints, so I put him on a joint supplement right when I got him, and it has really made a difference in his mobility and quality of life. It’s important to administer care to animals in the specific way that is best for them! I would show the same consideration to your pet. That includes factoring in their temperament. As my dog has gotten older, his needs around personal boundaries have increased, so I make sure to check in with him before petting him, picking him up, or otherwise touching him, and I do not touch him if he gives me a no, except in an actual emergency (i.e. the animal could be hurt or hurt someone else if I do not touch them). Instead, I do something else and check in again later. This allows me to establish a real felt sense of safety and trust with your pet. I also had cats all growing up, and have a real affection for them, as well as a clear understanding of their boundaries. I would be honored to care for your pet family just as I care for mine!

As my dog is a people’s dog and not a dog’s dog, I offer my services in your home. I can walk your pet, do a drop-in visit, or housesit! I will follow your instructions to the letter, and ask about any specific or special care your pet might need.

Emmett is highly intelligent, detail oriented, with a big, empathetic heart. I have helped him overcome behavior issues with his own dog and he works hard to learn about dog health and behavior. His dog came from a difficult situation and Emmitt took full responsibility to give the dog his best life. And he has succeeded! Emmett is personable and great with clients from all backgrounds. He will be diligent about providing for a pet’s special needs and will focus on the animal’s overall well-being. He is a great listener to both humans and animals. I would definitely leave my dog with Emmett for extended periods of time.

Emmett is one of the most responsible and caring people I know. If you want someone to treat your pet like a true member of the family: attentive, patient, and genuinely loving, then you have found the right person! He goes above and beyond to make sure your furry family member is happy, healthy, and well taken care of in every way. My senior dog had trouble with coordination and did not get along well with strangers or other dogs, but Emmett handled her with so much patience and was so calm and gentle with her. He never rushed her or got frustrated — he just met her where she was. By the end, she'd grown genuinely fond of him, which says a lot considering how she usually is with new people. His reliability and attention to detail set him apart. You can tell he doesn't just take care of pets — he truly cares about them. Anyone would be lucky to have him looking after their animals. Highly recommend without hesitation!
