Hello Rover community, My name is Emmett and I love all kinds of animals, at the moment I have three kitties. I have three boys: Pawvus, Leon, and Oki. Each with their own distinct personality. I love being able to have different kinds of relationships between the three of them. I’m no stranger to being patient with shy pets and have a keen sense for animals boundaries. Understanding how they feel is a key step to building trust with our fluffy friends! I’ve been taking care of animals for almost 5 years now and have the most experience with taking care of young kittens and adult cats. In my time as a pet parent I’ve had to provide medical treatment in the form of oral/topical medication for my cats. While my current pet experience is cat centric, I grew up with two medium sized dogs and love interacting and playing with pups of all ages and sizes. I've also pet sat for multiple acquaintances that included dog walking of small, medium, and large breeds, overnight stays to keep the pets company, and your routine pet care of providing the appropriate amount of food, keeping water bowls filled, cleaning litterboxes, and giving your fluffy friend lots and lots of love. If I could fill my entire day with taking care of animals I definitely would. I look forward to becoming your pets new friend and being someone you can trust with your furry pal while you’re away.

I've been afraid to have anyone watch my cat cause he's been known to have a feral streak and get very nervous n attack. Emmett came out to meet my monster before sitting to ensure my guy felt comfortable with him. They really seemed to have a great time while I was away which was such a relief for me especially considering I never thought anyone could handle my cat besides me. Emmett is great he's thoughtful and patient. I don't want to throw him under the bus to problematic pets lol but if you have a animal you're afraid to leave with anyone you want to consider Emmett ? he treats them like his own. Emmet is amazing! His patience and caring with my baby pomeranian Harley means more to me than words can express. He will continue to be Harleys great walker and care giver. I cannot recommend him enough for any one who needs walks or caring for their precious fur critter!!
Full disclosure: I live with Emmett. However, know that this does not change the fact that Emmett is the best person you could let care of your pet. We have 3 cats and had a senior rabbit (RIP); Emmett has never been anything less than fantastic with them. Every animal wants to be his friend. His caregiving is also exceptional. I'm too nervous about hurting the animals to cut their nails; Emmett does it perfectly in moments. I'm not brave enough to give them medication; oral or topical, Emmett has it covered. He has watched friends' dogs in the past, and from how at ease the dogs are, you'd think the owner had never left at all. Trust me: this is the guy you want watching your animals when you're away. He'll love them like his own, and even if you can give the most detailed instructions possible, he'll follow them to a T. Your pet could not be in better hands.

**I am currently not accepting new weekly recurring clients** I currently have a regular schedule where I am unavailable during the hours of 8a-12:30p Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30a-6p on Mondays. If you have a need that falls outside of these times, please feel free to send me a message and I would be more than happy to work something out that works for the both of us.

Safety, trust & environment
As a pet parent myself I know how specific we can get when it comes to caring for our pets. I'm very attentive and will of course follow any and all directions when it comes to caring for your pet. When it comes to my own pets, feeding and care has to be tackled in different ways based on each of their personalities. For instance all three of my cats have different feeders in order to prevent eating too fast, two different slow feeders of varying difficulty for the cat that is a little too smart, and the one that isn't as bright in the food hunting department, plus a regular bowl for the third cat that doesn't eat his food like he's never seen kibble before. I also feed them in a specific order to prevent the more food motivated one from getting to the others' food before they're done. If your pets have a similarly structured need/order I am no stranger to following these types of requests, even if you feel they may be silly some of the time. Knowing that your pets are getting the same care and routine while you're away is what can give you peace of mind so that you can focus on doing you while away.

A typical day
I love playing with dogs of all energy types! On walks I’ll always try and find a green place for them to check out and sniff all the smells there are to sniff. Mental enrichment is just as important as physical play and so playing games where dogs have to use their smarts to get their treats is a great way to tucker out a pup. Games like snuffle mats or puzzles are a great way to achieve this.
