Availability
Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I’m currently in between jobs, which allows me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and extended care. I teach a class at Wilson College two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:45–2:15), but I’m otherwise available throughout the day. I currently help a client with her dog Monday through Friday, and that schedule is flexible as well. Because of this, I’m able to prioritize pets in my care and adjust my routine to meet their individual needs.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and trust are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and feeding instructions are always double-checked, and I keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime. I take time to understand each dog’s personality, energy level, and any special needs. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions exactly. In my home, dogs are supervised, have a calm, clean environment, and receive plenty of attention, exercise, and enrichment. I’m comfortable administering basic care, transporting pets safely to vet appointments, and providing regular updates so owners feel confident and informed. I treat every pet as if they were my own — with patience, consistency, and lots of love.
Information Emma R. would like to know about your pet
To provide the best care possible, I ask pet parents to share a few important details about their dog: Daily routine (feeding times, walks, potty schedule) Energy level and exercise preferences Personality traits (shy, social, playful, anxious, etc.) Leash manners and reactivity to people, dogs, or other animals Any medical needs, medications, allergies, or health concerns Vet information and emergency contacts Training cues your dog knows and responds to Favorite toys, treats, or comfort items Social preferences (enjoys other dogs or prefers solo time) Any fears or triggers (storms, loud noises, cars, separation anxiety) Knowing these details helps me tailor care specifically to your dog’s needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away.
A typical day
A typical day with pets in my care is centered around their individual needs, routine, and personality. The day usually starts with a walk or potty break, followed by feeding and relaxed playtime or cuddles. Throughout the day, we go on additional walks and spend time outside, and when appropriate, I love taking dogs to a local park or on walks in a different neighborhood so they can safely explore new sights and smells. All outings are planned with each dog’s comfort, energy level, and temperament in mind — whether that means a calm, familiar route or a more adventurous walk for dogs who enjoy variety. If dogs enjoy social time, my Golden Retriever Harley can be a friendly play companion. I also balance activity with enrichment and rest, including puzzle toys, brushing, or quiet downtime. The day ends with dinner, another walk or potty break, and a calm wind-down so every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for.

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Emma — a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet sitter. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and currently have a 6-year-old Golden Retriever named Harley, who keeps me active and smiling every day. I currently dog sit weekly for a client where I handle walks, feeding, playtime, and even vet appointments — so your pup is always in capable, caring hands. I graduated from Wilson College in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Equine Studies, giving me a strong background in animal care, behavior, and responsibility. I truly understand that dogs are family — my own dog is my best friend — and I treat every animal I care for as if they were my own. I’d love to give your dog safe, loving, and dependable care while you’re away.
Reviews

Emma was great! She was willing to come meet the dogs ahead of time. Our dogs were well taken care of and she left our home cleaner than we left it!
