I am currently attending classes online, so I am home all day to care for your pets! My partner works from home as well, in case we need a second pair of hands. As specified above, our workload mandates that we can only take dogs that do not need extensive exercise outside of regular walks and indoor play. Again, due to our workload, we cannot accommodate animals that require constant supervision due to behavioral issues such as marking and chewing on household items. Otherwise, we make plenty of time to give creatures all the love and care they need!

Safety, trust & environment

We have a small South Philly back lot, which is mostly concrete with a narrow garden bed, available if your pet needs to pop out for a bathroom break. We have bowls for food and water, as well a an array of toys and treats. I also keep a pet first aid kit on hand just in case. Pets are allowed on furniture (if you permit), but we don’t have enough room to have large dogs sleep in bed with us. We recommend bringing a bed or blanket for larger dogs (as well as smaller dogs, if they prefer it), as well as any favorite toys or treats.

Information Emma & Patrick G. would like to know about your pet

We try to closely replicate your pets typical schedule, so it's always helpful to know their usual itinerary, including wake up, bed, meal, medication, and walk times. We are happy to accommodate a wide variety of breeds, but need a heads up about any pets who have tendencies towards marking, chewing on furniture, shoes, or plants, as well as any aggressive behaviors, so that we can prepare accordingly.

A typical day

We are close to the small dog run at the Bok Building, which is just around the corner from our house. I enjoy playing and giving lots of love in the house, where there is ample square footage for catch and zoomies, and plenty of comfy couch space for snoozing.

Pet care experience

Lifelong lover of pets of many varieties and temperaments! I have been an animal caregiver on Rover since mid-2019, and have a long history of sitting and caring for the pets of friends and family members. I also have worked extensively (5+ years) in toddler aged childcare. I grew up with five pets (3 cats, 1 dog, 1 guinea pig) and have loved caring for pets ever since. I would love to give your pets the love and care they require. I am available for dog walking, day care, and overnight stay in my home. I live with my partner in 1100 square foot, 2 bedroom row home in South Philadelphia. We live about a block from the Bok Building dog run. Pups are welcome on all couches and beds in our home as well. We both work from home, which means we are around most of the time to hang with the animals, but our current workload dictates that we cannot take high energy dogs who need extensive activity outdoors outside of walks. We are prepared to host small and medium pets, as well as those in the lower end of the Rover's 'large' weight classification. We also require that any animal that stays in the house be completely house trained, as half the house is carpeted and we have had some issues with dogs that are only partially or puppy pad trained. We generally do not take very young dogs, unless well-trained, for similar reasons. In light of current issues relating to covid -19, we require that any pet owner is abiding by current standards of quarantine (I.e. social distancing, face mask wearing), as we are doing the same. We have both been fully vaccinated and boosted. Please reach out for meet and greet appointments; I am very flexible.

Emma and Patrick were excellent communicators from the initial request through the entirety of my dog’s stay. I really appreciated the frequent photos and updates—they gave me great peace of mind. It’s clear they are experienced dog lovers—thoughtful, knowledgeable, and providing a calm, reassuring presence. Would happily use them again.

Emma and Patrick were fantastic! I received photos and updates throughout my pup’s stay and am pretty sure they played at least 1000 games of fetch. I would absolutely recommend them!

Emma and Patrick watched our dog Fin for 10 days and did an amazing job! We got regular updates during our trip which helped ease our stress, but Fin was clearly having a fantastic time!

Emma and Patrick made my nutty anxious pup feel at ease. She typically is very anxious after coming home from a stay but she didn’t skip a beat which demonstrates the quality of the care they provide. Plenty of updates and pics throughout the stay. Excellent experience for all!
