Honest opinion here, I’d never book with Emma again. I’ve contemplated writing this review, however as someone who sees their dog as their child, I feel it is obligatory to warn others of who they’re leaving their dog with. We recently moved to the area and chose Emma to watch our dog, as she’s less than a 5 minute walk away from our house, in hopes of setting up a longer term dog sitter partnership with her. To be honest, the booking with Emma was a complete and utter disaster from start to finish. Knowing my dog can sometimes be nervous with new people, I wanted a meeting with Emma first so Roxy would be familiar with her and her home before boarding for 3 nights. I tried for almost 2 weeks before going away to meet with Emma, she had excuse after excuse, and alas we never met up. My brother was watching Roxy for the majority of the time while I was on holiday, so I booked Emma to take her for 3 nights towards the end of my trip, as my brother had visitors over from Ireland and couldn’t watch Roxy. Emma notified me while I was already on holiday that she would be watching another dog during the same time. I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the booking, knowing my dog is often nervous with new/unknown dogs, and I sent Emma a big list of instructions to help Roxy settle in and feel comfortable, both with Emma & her partner, and with the other dog. Emma sent me a photo shortly after Roxy arrived, and she seemed happy and smiling in the sun. Emma confirmed the dogs were getting on well via photos and videos. Less than 24 hours after my brother dropped Roxy to Emma’s, she messaged me asking if he could collect her because Roxy was “barking”. There was very little I could do, already being abroad, now stressed and frantically looking for another sitter, as my brother could collect Roxy but couldn’t watch her for the remainder of the weekend while I was away. It felt like Emma gave up on Roxy quite quickly (literally less than 24 hours into a 4 day booking) and there were plenty of options like taking her for a walk to tire her out, or literally give her a cuddle to calm her, if she was in fact barking. Bear in mind, Roxy never barks, so this already wasn’t adding up for me, and seemed very out of character for my dog. As mentioned, if she had a chance to meet Emma and see her home beforehand, things may have been different. I also wish Emma informed me of the paper thin walls in her flat. Even the neighbour picking cutlery from their drawers could be heard from Emma’s flat. This obviously left my dog feeling confused and unsettled. Per Emma’s request to cut the booking short, I couldn’t book another sitter until Emma amended the active booking, which again proved more difficult than it should have been, causing further stress and an entire day of my holiday spent worrying about who can watch Roxy. I eventually managed to contact Rover to amend the booking to finish early so I could try make a new booking with another dog sitter. With the short notice and it being peak holiday season in August, I actually couldn’t get another sitter, and my brother subsequently had to cancel all of his plans with his visitors for the weekend, just adding further upset and frustration to the whole situation. In the many years and sitters I’ve used with Rover before, I’ve never had a single one of them complain that Roxy was “barking”. Roxy is a sweet chihuahua who loves cuddles and company, and I feel Emma wasn’t sharing the full story with me, or a better option of weekend plans came along and she just wanted to get rid of Roxy. The entire situation was devastating. I felt completely helpless, stressed, and utterly disappointed that Emma took advantage of my brother still being in London and also living local, so she could give Roxy back to him when it suited her. Even getting a refund proved difficult, further adding to the story not adding up, as she wanted Roxy collected on a Friday afternoon. Did a better option of weekend plans come along? What I had hoped would be a great local dog sitter that Roxy could visit whenever I go away, turned out to be a complete nightmare and ruined the last few days of my holiday for me. Roxy was also returned from her visit with Emma highly stressed, extremely nervous, and displaying unusual behaviours like shaking, panicking when touched, and growling. Behaviours which we have never seen before in the 4 years we’ve had her, and we now need to work to reverse. If, like me, you want your dog to be cared for and safe while you go away, then I highly suggest you do not book with Emma.

Emma had our dog Teddy for almost 16 days and we honestly could not have found a better dog sitter! She really went above and beyond and showered Teddy with so much love and affection. She kept us updated throughout our trip with the cutest photos and videos of their daily adventures, and it’s so clear how experienced and caring she is with animals. It was our first time being away from Teddy for that long but we felt completely at ease knowing he was in the best hands. He absolutely adored his time with Emma and was clearly missing her after we picked him up! We’ve already sung her praises to everyone and couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We’ll definitely be using Emma again! ❤️

We can tell that Norman absolutely adores Emma, and he had the best day out in Richmond followed by a sleepover! She even got him a puppy ice cream, which I know he would have absolutely loved haha. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Emma again in the future for Norman! 🐶❤️
