Hi there! I'm Emma, a freelance writer from England and essentially the human version of a dog (I live for walks and food). Dogs are, quite simply, the love of my life — and having spent my entire life owning, working with and befriending them, I feel very confident around them. I can intuit how they're feeling from their body language, mannerisms etc and know how to respond to them and really love them. I'd call myself the 'dog whisperer' if it wasn't already trademarked. I spent just over a decade dogsitting in England. I've recently moved to Los Angeles and would be very keen to extend my services here. I live with my partner and King Charles Cavalier who absolutely adores people, dogs, squirrels — and just about everything. Your pup will be in very safe hands and if you have any particular training requirements, then I will make sure I stick to them thoroughly. I live in an apartment right in front of a big, beautiful park. There's also plenty room to roam in my apartment complex, with lots of grass and shade. Since I'm a freelance writer, I work from home and live a very flexible lifestyle. I can work around your needs. I'm experienced with all sizes and many different breeds, having previously looked after everything from a teacup Pomeranian to a Pyrenees Mountain Dog x Leonberger. Thank you so much for reading. Emma was wonderful with Cosmo! She truly spoiled him and followed all of my instructions carefully. Since Cosmo is a senior, I really appreciated how gentle and patient she was with him, especially helping him up and down his ramp and taking him out in his stroller as instructed. She gave him lots of belly rubs, attention, and love, and it showed! When we got home, Cosmo was happy, relaxed, and showed no signs of stress, which gave me so much peace of mind. Emma also kept our house clean and sent daily updates with photos and videos, so we always knew how Cosmo was doing while we were away. I highly recommend Emma and will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you for taking such great care of our little guy! ❤️

Emma did a great job taking care of our dog Sadie. She was very calm with Sadie and gave her a lot of affection. Sadie liked her right away. Emma also has a lot of experience taking care of dogs. We knew Sadie was in good hands while we were away.
Bella is partially sighted so we could not use kennels, we found Emma via Rover.com. What a lovely caring person she is, she kept us updated throughout, Bella loved staying with her and we will definitely be using her services next year.
Sensing Emma’s love of dogs, Coco connected with Emma straight away. Emma’s calm and capable manner was just what was needed and by the end of the day we were greeted by a calm, happy and well cared for dog. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Emma to others.

Schedule
If I'm with a dog, the dog comes first! Typically, I like to write with them at my feet, but I never leave dogs unattended (unless with explicit permission from the owner).

It varies with each dog! I find it important to stick to the owner's routine as much as possible, in order to make the dog feel as at home as possible.

A typical day
Lots of playtime, cuddles, walks. I love to walk along the downs and up past the racecourse but always happy to walk somewhere they're familiar with.
