Frenchie Mom who Loves to Host!

Growing up in New Mexico with 7 dogs total, I quickly learned to be dog savvy from a young age. I got my dog Bumbus when I moved to NYC with my Husband. We've done Rover as a family the last three years we have been in Hamilton heights. We live in a two bedroom ground floor apartment with an enclosed patio space. Bumbus adores other dogs. While he loves to play and socialize, he's happy to spend the afternoon napping on the couch. My dog is my whole world, I understand first hand how difficult it can be to trust others with his care. I strive to create a space that treats dogs like family. I keep owners as updated and at ease as possible with their treasured family members in my care. Over my years of experience I have hosted countless dogs in my home, and as a Rover sitter I have accumulated over 100 five star reviews. We are prepared to accommodate your pets every need, and give them a nice vacation too! Our home is the perfect getaway for your pet. We have a sweet Frenchie to play with, our furniture is open to furry friends, we have a great backyard space for frequent potty breaks and playing, there's two adults with no kids who treat dogs like kids, and we are ALWAYS stocked with toys and treats. (Allergies permitting of course!).

Emma did a great job watching Bongo and sending pictures! This is the second time using them, the first time bongo had a cast and needed meds so I trust them bongo seems to have fun with Bumbus :)

I couldn't have asked for a better sitter than Emma! Her daily text and photo updates were incredibly reassuring, allowing me to relax knowing he was in good hands. Emma is super sweet and attentive, she eased his separation anxiety. Her flexibility with scheduling drop off and pick up made the whole process stress free. I highly recommend her!

Schedule

As I have a pup of my own, my schedule is largely built around his needs. I work three days a week for 5 hours outside of the house, but this schedule is flexible and can be changed according to the needs of pets in my home. I take all pets outside first thing in the morning, and usually do an early evening walk around sunset. My husband is home full time in the evenings and on weekends, so he is often available to supervise dogs if I step out for the evening. He loves to go on runs with dogs if they are up for it, and he always loves to have a dog of his own to walk in the evenings.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a patio space which is available for frequent potty breaks, we are also able to provide daily walks. Our dog sleeps in our bed, and we are always open to pets sleeping wherever it is they sleep at home. We have a crate that any dog is welcome to use, we just like to change out the bedding in there for them so it smells like home. We have several policies in effect that ensure safety of all dogs in our care. We do not watch more than two additional dogs at one time. We ensure that all dogs in our care are up to date on their shots and get along well with other dogs. We also do not feed dogs at the same time, as our dog has allergies and needs to be separated from other dog's food during meal time. We are sure to keep records of all dogs needs posted on the fridge during their stay, to ensure all medication and feeding instructions are precisely followed.

Pets

A typical day

Dogs are welcome to sleep in their crates, on the couch, in our bedroom, and if they are nice in our bed! Bumbus and I are usually up by 8:30 AM, saying goodbye to dad, eating breakfast, and going on our first walk! I love to take the dogs to the coffee shop ten blocks up. Dogs are welcome inside and Bumbus is very familiar with all of the folks who work there! I do most of my work from home from 11 AM- 6 PM. I'm able to take breaks throughout the day and let dogs out, feed lunch, and occasionally run an errand or two. I do dinner around 6 PM when my partner returns home! I will either step out for rehearsal or snuggle up on the couch with my partner and our dog! We are accommodating to all different sorts of pet lifestyles.

I strive to make the transition from your home to mine as relaxed and organized as possible. I keep detailed notes on each dog in my care. Knowing their daily routine on a typical day helps me to make their schedule, and best align mine to match it. Due to my little guy, I am only able to accept dogs that are comfortable with other dogs and 100% nonaggressive. Sometimes dogs can act differently when they are in a new place, and I'm very sensitive to that. I'm great at helping to deal with anxiety and nervousness, but I cannot take the risk of my pet's safety. Please let me know if your dog has a history of being aggressive with other dogs. If your dog experiences anxiety, please let me know what you do that helps! Dogs have such different personalities and needs, the more I know about your furry family member the better!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
