I work part-time and am mostly based from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility for time with your furry friends. I’m out every day with my own dog, so regular walks are part of my routine. I do have two young children, so there are school runs to factor in, but I’m available for walks, sitting, and check-ins between 9am and 2:30pm most days. I’m also happy to board friendly dogs over weekends, as long as they’re comfortable around other dogs and children.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority. At home, I have a large, fully fenced garden where dogs can play and explore securely, along with my friendly Labrador who enjoys the company of other dogs. My garden office is open and positioned so I can keep a constant eye on your pet, allowing for regular interaction, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. When caring for pets in their own home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel relaxed and settled. I’m respectful of your space, attentive to your pet’s individual needs, and make sure they receive plenty of care, attention, and exercise while you’re away.

Information Emma-Louise D. would like to know about your pet

Before any booking, I like to gather a few important details to make sure I can provide the safest and best care possible, especially as I have my own friendly dog at home. This includes your dog’s age, breed, temperament, energy level, and any medical needs or medications, as well as how they behave around other dogs, people, and children. I also need to know about their recall and lead behaviour, whether they can be left alone and for how long, and any signs of separation anxiety. It’s helpful to understand their usual routine, feeding schedule, and sleeping arrangements, along with any preferences or triggers they may have. As I do have a resident dog, I can accept neutered dogs, and I may also accept intact males if they are comfortable and sociable with other intact males. I am unable to accept unspayed (intact) females. I am also happy to accommodate solo walks if needed to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety.

A typical day

Your dog will be welcomed into a calm, caring home environment and treated like one of the family. I aim to provide a safe, relaxed, and enriching experience tailored to each dog’s individual needs, with a balance of exercise, stimulation, and downtime. Ideally, your dog will be well socialised and comfortable around other dogs, as they will have the opportunity to spend time with my friendly, intact Labrador, who enjoys company and play. We will enjoy a lovely local walk each day, either on lead or off lead depending on your dog’s recall, confidence, and your preferences. Walks are always chosen with safety and suitability in mind. At home, your dog will have a comfortable space to rest as well as plenty of enrichment activities. This includes games such as fetch, scent work, and search-based activities to keep them mentally engaged and happy. During school holidays, my two boys (aged 8 and 9) will also be around. They are used to being around dogs and will happily enjoy spending time with and gently playing with your dog under close supervision. They are always kind, calm, and respectful with animals. Overall, I focus on creating a home-from-home environment where dogs feel secure, relaxed, and well cared for throughout their stay.

Experienced, reliable pet care

Pet care experience

I’ve been around animals my whole life and genuinely love caring for them. Growing up with dogs gave me a strong understanding of their behaviour, needs, and personalities, while always having cats has made me confident with independent and more sensitive pets too. I own a nearly 2-year old (*intact male*) Labrador, so am very used to the energy, routine and care that a young dog needs. Over the years, I’ve also looked after and handled family dogs of all sizes and temperaments, so I’m comfortable with everything from energetic walks to calm companionship at home. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own—making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while they are with me.

Emma has taken care of, and walked, my 2 cockapoos Monty and Rosie. They absolutely adore Emma and always have such a fantastic time with her. They come back from the walks worn out and having had a fab time time exploring new places and playing with other dogs. Emma is trustworthy and kind, great at communication and flexible. Emma is gentle and loving towards other dogs, and they are the same in return. I would use Emma to take care of, and walk, my dogs anytime.
