Emma and Gareth
Hi, we’re Emma and Gary. We live in Hackney Wick, a 5 minute walk from the canals and Hackney marshes and a 10 minute walk from Victoria Park, where we walk most days come rain or shine (and enjoy puppy watching). We have only lived here a year and we are loving it. The only thing missing is having the comfort and fun of a dog around. I have always grown up with labradors and when I was a teenager my mum bred my Labrador, Lottie. She had 2x litters of 11 puppies which was possibly the best time of my life. My siblings and I were responsible for raising the puppies, feeding them, picking up their poops, de-worming them and taking them for their jabs and check ups. As my dogs have grown older and slower, I have looked after them, helping them in and out of the car for walks and giving them their medication. Gary was originally a cat man until we did a 6 month stint in Australia working on a farm. He was responsible for 3 working Kelpie’s, taking them out to work everyday as well as feeding them etc. I was responsible for the 2 retrievers in the house, 1 Jack Russell and her litter of 5 puppies. He now loves dogs just as much as me, we can’t leave the house without Gary stopping to say hi to every dog we pass. One day we’ll have our own pup, a big black and brown kelpie. But until then, we want to look after yours! We own a car in east London so can also offer a pick up service for longer stays if you are slightly further afield and public transport isn’t so easy to get to us. This also means we can sometimes take your dog out on bigger walks outside of London.

Jack had a lovely time with Gareth and was clearly very relaxed and happy in his company! Gareth was very communicative (as was Emma in the lead up to the day). We would definitely use both of them again.
Emma and Gareth are absolutely brilliant! They took the very best care of my 8 year old dog Biscuit whilst I was away for two weeks, and sent brilliant updates about her every day. Biscuit’s a nervous, reactive rescue, so I have to be very careful about finding the right people to look after her and keep her safe. They both took Biscuit’s higher than average needs in their stride, as well as bringing out the best side of her too. Biscuit clearly grew to quickly trust them, which she doesn’t do with many people. Smart, thoughtful and lovely dog carers worth their weight in gold in my opinion (and Biscuit’s too).
Emma and Gareth took amazing care of our greyhound boy for a week while we were away. He is a bit of a needy boy as he has medication, has separation anxiety and can't go off lead and they made sure to always respect this. They sent lots of picture updates of him both at home and while out for walks and he looked so settled- we knew he was in good hands! We would not hesitate to recommend Emma & Gareth and hope Manu can stay again :)
They were very communicative and took excellent care of Bea. She came back very happy!
Monty had the best day with Emma, he came back a very happy boy and fell straight asleep from all the walkies ☺️ would definitely recommend Emma & Gareth, you can tell their dog lovers and keep you updated throughout the day

Schedule
I, Emma work as a nurse 4 days a week, the other 3 days I have off to what I like which mostly involves walks, coffees and running errands. Gareth works from home everyday in our lovely ground floor flat with a garden.

Safety, trust & environment
Pets cared for in our lovely home will be safe, happy and loved. We have an open plan living/kitchen area that opens out to a secure garden covered in grass. We have a lovely big cosy rug for a pup to curl up on.
A typical day
Depending on their personality, we would love to bring a dog on our normal days outing which normally includes a big walk, coffee, lunch at home then maybe a trip to a pub or a run around the park. Some cuddles with a movie on would also definitely be on the cards.
