Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space and pets with the same respect I would want for my own. Drop-ins include feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and lots of affection. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I’m mindful of potential risks such as traffic, open doors, or startling noises that could cause stress or lead to accidents. On walks, I make sure pets are securely leashed and always by my side, paying attention to their surroundings. In the home, I’m careful about doors, gates, and windows to ensure no unexpected escapes. I also keep an eye on how pets react to noises or new environments, offering comfort and reassurance when needed.

Information Emma K. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to gather some important information before caring for your pet, including any allergies, emergency contacts, and your vet’s information. It’s also helpful to know if there are specific things I should watch out for, as well as your pet’s favorite hiding spots, so I can ensure their happiness and safety. Please let me know about any special needs (such as eye drops, diapers, or pee pads), along with your dog’s strengths (like being a fast runner, strong, or a high jumper) and any challenges (such as impaired vision, hearing loss, chewing on furniture, or eating too quickly).

A typical day

A fun day with me usually includes plenty of playtime, exercise, and relaxation tailored to your pet’s needs. For dogs, this might mean a nice walk around the neighborhood or a game of fetch in the yard, followed by some cuddle time and belly rubs. For cats, it could be interactive play with toys, gentle brushing, and cozy naps in their favorite spots. Whether it’s exploring on walks, enjoying puzzle toys, or simply snuggling on the couch, I love creating a balance of activity and comfort so your pet feels happy, loved, and at ease.

Pet care experience

Hi there! I’m a graduate student with a MA in counseling, and along with my passion for helping people, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for animals. For a few years I went on a break from this site but, decided to try it again as I truly love meeting new furry friends, and wanted to earn some cash on the side. I truly enjoy connecting with pets of all kinds and getting to know their unique personalities. I have personal experience owning cats and currently share my home with a sweet rescue dog who has taught me so much about patience, love, and the importance of making pets feel safe and cared for. Over the years, I’ve also gained hands-on experience with pet sitting and dog walking both daytime visits and overnight stays. Whether it’s cuddles on the couch, long walks, or simply making sure your pet feels comfortable while you’re away, I strive to provide the same level of care and attention I give to my own furry friend. I’d love the chance to meet your pet and give them the love and care they deserve!

Emma did a great job watching my three energetic little dogs. She took them for walks, sent me pictures, played with them and left me a very detailed summary of the time she spent with them. She did a great job and I would certainly recommend her as well as use her again myself.

I highly recommend Emma, she has taken care of my golden retriever and bulldog many times and I have never had a problem when my doggies were with Emma they were perky and would always be sad to see her leave...I do not recommend going on a walk with her unless your a pro runner. My dogs run fast but Emma can keep up with them no sweat , she is observant to there needs and is quick to catch on to there likes and dislikes...The only incident I had was when Annie (the bull dog) was bloated or gastric dilatation which was how Emma put it. I got a call from her informing me that she had called the vet and was rushing over I was of course freaking out but Emma's first aid skills came in hand and she was calm and soothing to Annie through the entire thing. My Annie is now safe thanks to Emma. I also learned quite a few things from her, I never tested my dogs tempature before but Emma had no problem doing it and I learned to recognize body an facial expressions such as when my dog exposes her belly it meant she was comfortable and that there was different meanings to there eyes. Squinty eyes=appeasement unless there body is lowered which would then indicate fear. Emma taught me the signs behind there ears and jaw line. I am very thankful to have met such a wonderful girl, and if she was still on the Island today I would still be using her.

Emma has been one of my best friends since freshman year in high school. She is very empathetic she has gave money so many times to people on the street and helps out whenever she can and she will stop anywhere to just say hi to an animal. One time when we were getting orange chicken from safeway she saw a dog in the car with the windows closed it was pretty hot out and she said the dog looked overheated she went inside safeway reported the dog and the owner finally came out and unrolled the window and went back into the store but Emma wouldn't leave the dog in the car so she went back in and asked the owner if she could give the dog some water I guess he was a little weirded out but she bout a bottle of water anyways and used the unused bowl for the orange chicken to poor some water in gave it to the dog and refused to leave his side until the owner came out and she gave some long lecture about how a mans best friend should not be treated like that poor dog was...long story short we were late to class but the dog was safe thanks to emma. Honestly I feel like my dog likes her better then me she's like some type of dog whisperer lol. Another time because Bainbridge Islands weather is so bipolar it was really cold and Emma gave the dog her jacket and stayed with the dog until I finally got her to go because we can't be late for school and it's impossible to find parking. Lunch breaks should be longer. But if you should trust anyone with your dogs or your life it's Emma she's with you through anything and won't stop until she makes everyone smile. Ps: can you send this to Emma
