I’ve always had an affinity for animal care. I’ve been housesitting since I was 18 for many families; I have also had animal care training from working in animal shelters such as administering medications to both cats and dogs. I am well-versed in animal nutrition and animal behavior (I have a certification for animal care from Animal Behavior Institute). On top of all my qualifications, I'm an absolute sucker for cuddles and play, and the animals I sit for know it!

Emma was very responsive and attentive to our dog. Leo looked like he got spoiled with cuddles! Would book again for sure.
There is part of me that does not want to write this review because in the 30 plus years I have had dogs Emma is the best pet sitter I have ever had and I selfishly want her to be available whenever we need her! She loves animals and animals love her! She is so responsible and trustworthy that I can go on vacation and actually not worry about my little fur pals which has never happened before. Once you have Emma sit for you I can assure you she will always be your first choice!!!
Hi! Emma is our favorite pet and house sitter. She is always responsible. The dogs love her. We know everyone is safe and well cared for when Emma is here in the house.
Emma is the BEST! My dog instantly fell in love with her. We are always confident that our fur baby gets excellent care while we are away and Emma is here. She is willing to stay overnight at our home, which is a big bonus. She is sure to give our pooch extra cuddles and send cute pics to keep us posted while we are away. She is also extremely reliable and responsible, making sure she adheres to any special care instructions. We love her, and more importantly, our dog loves her!

I love catering to pets' needs (and spoiling them when I can with treats or extra cuddles). In my experience pets are at their most nervous when their humans are away, so I do everything I can to make them feel comfortable. This looks different depending on the animals' personalities. Sometimes it’s extra walks, sometimes constant cuddles, sometimes sleeping in the bed with me, etc. I’m trained in animal behavior and can figure out what their needs are usually after the first day or so of getting to know them. I also want to make sure the humans are taken care of too. I know from leaving my own pets that I miss them and wish they could be with me so I make sure to take a lot of action shots of the babies to send to the humans as well.

I like to know as much about their routine, feeding schedule, and personalities as much as possible. Especially any behaviors such as tendencies to mark, bark, or any potential conflicts with other animals in or out of the home (if we go on walks, for instance). I'm up for anything, but the more prepared I can be to take care of them, the better I can meet their needs and safety.
A typical day
I am willing to do whatever the animals need to make sure they are sticking as close to their normal routine as possible! Whether that means lots of playtime in the evenings, walks, or just extra scratches and cuddles, I am up for anything they need to be as comfortable as possible while their favorite humans are away.

Availability
I work full-time in San Francisco, so I am usually gone for 8 hours a day M-F. I am willing to pet sit anywhere in the East Bay or San Francisco area. Before committing to any booking, I will make sure that I am the right fit for you and your fur babies, so they get what they need during the day.
