Pet care experience

Caring and dependable!

Hi! My name is Emma and I recently moved to Baltimore after living in DC for 7 years. In college, my room mate and I adopted a spunky, blind 10 year old pug. She passed away after a fun 3 years together. In August 2020, my husband and I got a puppy, Lily, who is my best friend! I just graduated with my masters and am in between jobs, so I have open availability during the week and some weekends to drop in on your pet/take them for a walk. I have taken care of large and small dogs and cats all my life, some old and with disabilities. I am dependable, kind, and will love your pet almost as much as you do :) I can travel around Baltimore and have a car! Let me know what your pet likes to do and I'll be sure to incorporate that into their care routine (walks, throwing the ball, or just some quality cuddling time). Look forward to meeting you and your pet!

House Sitting • May 21, 2019

Emma was great with our pup Manchego and she was so respectful of our place and our pups routine. We felt so comfortable with her and knew he was in good hands, made our time away that much more relaxing. Manchego is missing Emma already!

Emma has been dog-sitting my one-year-old treeing walker coonhound mix for the past year. I have had no issues with her care what so ever. She clearly loves animals, and treats my dog like one of her own. Emma watched my dog, Bailey, for five days while I went on a cruise last August, and when I came to pick Bailey up, the two had clearly bonded. On the first day with Emma, my shy puppy was shaking with her tail tucked in. When I picked her up, Bailey looked happy and comfortable. I believe this is evidence of Emma's caring touch with animals. I also knew Emma for the past two years as a student at Virginia Tech. Emma owned a rescue pug named Lucy for two years. The two were inseparable. Emma clearly had love for Lucy, and Lucy had love for Emma. Lucy was deaf and blind, so Emma took extra care with this dog to make her happy and comfortable. Emma's experience with Lucy and Bailey demonstrate her competence in dog-sitting.

Pets

A typical day

I love to go for long walks around the neighborhoods of Baltimore. We have a long leash that we take with us to throw the ball around in quiet parks, if that is something your dog would enjoy. I have endless patience for fetch, tug, and playing with cat toys!

Health conditions or allergies. I also would want to know their level of leash training, if they eat things off the ground, potty training, and sociability so I can be prepared to best take care of them.
