Availability
I currently work full-time in Manhattan, so my availability is best suited for early morning, evening, and weekend care. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, I work Monday through Friday, and from September through May, my schedule shifts to Tuesday through Saturday. While I’m not available for midday walks during the week, I’m happy to accommodate early morning or evening visits, and I’m often available for weekend walks or extended house-sitting with advance notice. If you and your pet are comfortable with me being away for 8–9 hours during the day, I’m also available for overnight stays during the week. I always do my best to communicate clearly and ensure your pet feels loved, safe, and well cared for in your absence.

About Emma H.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect and attention I would in my own. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible—whether that’s feeding schedules, walk times, playtime preferences, or administering medication. I’m attentive to their habits and needs, and I do my best to create a calm and consistent environment while you’re away. I also make sure to keep you updated with regular messages, photos, and notes so you know your pet is safe, happy, and in good hands. My goal is to offer peace of mind while you’re away and to make your pet feel comfortable, cared for, and loved in their familiar surroundings.
Information Emma H. would like to know about your pet
It’s really helpful to know your pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs or quirks ahead of time. For example—do they have any medical conditions, food sensitivities, or triggers (like skateboards, loud noises, or other dogs)? Are they crate-trained or allowed on furniture? Do they have separation anxiety, need meds, or prefer a certain walking route? The more I know upfront, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.
A typical day
It really depends on your pet’s personality! For active dogs, I love going on long walks, playing fetch, or exploring nearby parks or green spaces if that’s part of their routine. For more mellow pets, I’m always happy to hang out, offer lots of pets and belly rubs, and keep them company while they relax. For cats, I’ll break out the toys or just sit nearby while they do their own thing. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels engaged, loved, and cared for—whether that means high-energy play or simply keeping them calm and cozy in their own home.

Animal loving city-dweller
Pet care experience
I grew up in a home with dogs—sometimes two at a time—so I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. From 2021 to 2023, I regularly house-sat and looked after a large dog in the city while working from home, typically spending 2–3 days a week with him. That consistent, hands-on experience deepened my understanding of daily pet care routines, from long walks to feeding, playtime, and companionship. In more recent years, I’ve also become a trusted cat-sitter. Both of my last two roommates had cats, and I cared for them anytime my roommates were away—making sure they were fed, happy, and comfortable in their home environment. I genuinely love animals and take pride in being both responsible and attentive. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a senior pet needing extra care, or a shy cat that needs patience, I bring a calm and caring presence to every visit.
Reviews

Emma is always so reliable and communicative, our girls love their walks with her!!!

Emma was a life saver during a last minute request and Jasper had the best time with her per usual!

I never have to worry about Jasper with Emma, she takes great care of him, is a great communicator and treats my apartment like her own. Jasper loves when she stays with him!

Emma took great care of our two senior cats for an overnight stay. They were so relaxed when we got home. Would recommend her to anyone friend!
