Pet care experience

Dependable & Caring Dog Owner

I have been around dogs my whole life and my current pup Brody has been one of the loves of my life for the last 10 years. I love meeting new dogs and I really enjoy getting the chance to understand them so I can provide the best care based on what they need. I have done pet sitting for friends and family on and off since I was a teenager but it wasn’t until I started volunteering at the humane society in Kalispell (only for a short period, right before COVID) that I got serious about professional dog/pet care. I am originally from Reno, Nevada, and I worked for a dog care business where I went through dog training and behavior courses that provided me with newfound knowledge and skills. My regular duties at this job included in-home dog sitting, drop-ins visits and walks during the day and training and behavior modification (as needed), on a daily basis for multiple clients. I am so grateful for the experience that job provided because it has allowed me to feel confident with any situation I am in with any type of dog. I joined Rover because I truly love and enjoy taking care of animals and I will be so happy to meet your pup.

Emma was absolutely amazing with Jasper! She took him on a good hike everyday and sent lots of beautiful pictures. He and Brody looked to be great friends and I felt bad breaking them up to take Jasper home. I loved that she was able to be with him so much her having a teleworking job. I would totally use her again!

Emma is extraordinary, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Cleo got tons of snuggles, comfortable lounging time, and plenty of exercise. She got long walks on her favorite trails and playtime with Emma’s dog, Brody. Emma is very experienced and confidently handled Cleo’s personality quirks and occasional reactivity. She also sent detailed updates and absolutely gorgeous photos. I would trust her with Cleo again in a heartbeat.

Emma was a fantastic sitter for our dog! Ours is older, and has had issues getting along with other dogs and navigating new surroundings. Emma was way on top of the medications, did a great job acclimating our dog to the new space and other pets, and adjusted to a new plan after our schedule changed. She will be the first call I make going forward when I need a sitter.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in an apartment with my 10 year old pup Brody who is dog friendly and loves making new friends to play with (he will also keep his space from dogs who may not be as playful). My apartment has a good amount of space and lots of comfortable places for naps and cuddles. Because I have a very small, public and unfenced yard, all bathroom breaks will require walks on a leash. I can take your dog on hikes or to dog parks per your approval. I value your dog’s comfort level greatly and I have experience working with anxious and timid dogs that may need some patience and support adapting to a new setting and caretaker. I have also worked with senior dogs that require multiple medications and will be happy to make sure those are administered properly. My dog sleeps on my bed and your dog can sleep wherever they will feel the most comfortable.

Pets

A typical day

I work from home full-time and I live by Franklin Park. On the days that I work, I usually do a morning and afternoon walk around the park and in the evening I go on a longer walk at Blue Mountain, Waterworks or up the Rattlesnake. On my days off I will take the dogs on a longer hiking trails and make sure they get lots of outside time.
