Emily can care for
Availability
I recently got offered a new job at a veterinarian clinic that requires me to be unavailable from 8am-6pm on Thursdays and Fridays. For that reason and having to care for my own pets as well, I will not be accepting overnight stays on Wednesday/Thursday nights at this time except under special circumstances. That is subject to change in the future! I am otherwise flexible with my schedule to meet your pets needs based on their usual routine. I typically will check on my pets between 12pm-2pm and then again between 7pm-9pm. If your pet requires certain care during those time frames I'm happy to work around that.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a ton of experience working with dogs who have separation anxiety and need a lot of human time. I can provide as much enrichment as they need, whether that's playtime inside or in the yard, a nice walk around the neighborhood, cuddles, etc. I like to tailor the pet sitting experience to your pets personality. Do they love interaction, or prefer to be left alone with the comfort and supervision of someone nearby? As a dog mom whose pup struggled with separation anxiety for a long time, I sympathize with the stress that can arise when their family is away. My vow is to make sure they feel comfortable and enriched at home until your safe return. While staying at your home, I will make a point to leave little to no trace of my stay. If you'd like me to wash bedding and/or towels prior to your return, let me know, otherwise I will always wash any dishes/cookware that has been used and put it away, wipe counters, etc.
Information Emily T. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know in advance about special needs, tendencies/behaviors worth noting, and what I should keep a look out for while taking care of your dog. Do they like to chew cords? Do they try to get into the cat's food? Does your dog get anxiety or reactive around other dogs or animals? Where does your cat like to hide? Things like that.
A typical day
Plenty of cuddles, grooming (if he/she is a fan), fetch/frisbee/tug of war, lazing around on the couch or in bed, a training session (if requested), or maybe a few laps around the block. I can accommodate for nearly all energy levels and personalities!

Full time animal lover!
Pet care experience
I’m an experienced animal care professional with a background in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, and behavioral care. Availability & scheduling: Please note that I am unavailable for visits or walks during my regular work hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 AM–6:00 PM. I’m best suited for clients whose scheduling needs fit outside those hours, so please keep this in mind before requesting bookings. I studied psychology at the University of Washington and earned a certification in Applied Animal Behavior. While I’m not a certified dog trainer or veterinary technician, I have years of hands-on experience working closely with animals of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I previously worked as a veterinary assistant and cared for disabled dogs at UW Medical Center. I’ve also worked as a receptionist in veterinary clinics for over three years, and I supplement my free time with pet sitting because I genuinely love working with animals. I’m happy to work with puppies, senior pets, shy animals, and pets with special needs. My goal is always to keep your pets safe, comfortable, enriched, and loved while you’re away. I may not be the best fit for dogs who require very long walks, runs, or multiple miles of exercise daily. Due to physical limitations, I currently offer walks up to 30 minutes at a time. For overnight stays, I do have pets of my own at home (a ferret and a dog), so I’ll need to return home periodically for their care. Otherwise, I’m flexible and always try to match your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I’m always happy to answer questions and help determine whether we’d be a good fit!

Reviews

Emily took amazing care of our dog and cat during overnight stays and daytime care over the weekend while we were away. She was attentive, dependable, and clearly cared for our pets like they were her own. We really appreciated the updates and the care she took with both our pets and our home. Our return flight was unexpectedly delayed, and she was incredibly kind and flexible in staying later to make sure our pets were still cared for until we made it home. That gave us so much peace of mind during a stressful travel situation. Everything was clean and well cared for when we got back, and we felt very comfortable having her stay in our home. We would absolutely recommend her and would happily book with her again!
Emily T. cancelled a booking within a day of the start date.

I’m so glad we found Emily! She was AMAZING with the cats & she took such great care of them. Her level of communication (from the meet & greet through the trip) & daily photo updates were such a nice touch - I never had to wonder how things were at home. The peace of mind she provided was irreplaceable. Can’t wait for the next trip, which will be soon!

Emily is great and my cats warmed up to her quickly. I highly recommend her!
