My experience includes working in animal rescue and volunteering, where I cared for animals of all species, temperaments, and medical needs. I have extensive experience with puppies, senior pets, and special-needs animals, including those requiring medications, mobility support, or extra patience and structure. Through this work, I’ve developed a strong ability to read the body language and communication cues of different species, allowing me to understand when a pet is comfortable, stressed, anxious, or unwell. I pay close attention to subtle changes in behavior, appetite, energy, and routine, which helps me recognize early signs of illness or behavioral changes and communicate concerns clearly and promptly with pet parents. My background in rescue and professional pet care has taught me the importance of calm, consistent care , especially for pets who may not thrive in boarding environments. I am confident working with pets who need extra reassurance, individualized routines, or specialized care, and I always prioritize keeping pets comfortable and secure in their own home. I understand that inviting a pet sitter into your home requires a high level of trust, and I take that responsibility seriously. I am licensed, insured, bonded, and background checked, and I also come with letters of reference that speak to my professionalism, reliability, and integrity. I am mindful of home security, privacy, and routines, and I follow all client instructions carefully. This includes locking up properly, respecting personal spaces, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment during every visit. My focus is always on keeping pets comfortable and stress free in familiar surroundings while ensuring their home remains safe and well cared for. Whether I am providing drop in visits or overnight care, I aim to create a calm, dependable presence that both pets and owners can feel confident about. Emily started walking our two big dogs about a year ago. She was great with both of them from the start, and they looked forward to her coming every day. We lost our female lab to an Addison’s Disease crisis several months ago and we worried how our male mastiff mix was going to handle it, especially walking alone. He’s very reactive to other dogs, but Emily was always able to handle him well, even when confronted with off-leash dogs. She’s competent, confident and very trustworthy. We’re all going to miss her!!
Emily-Sarah was phenomenal. She not only cared for my pets, but also my home while I was away. She was caring for my pets when a snowstorm hit northern Virginia. The power went out and there was 2 1/2 feet of snow, when deliveries couldn’t come through, she made her way to the store to make sure that they all had their proper food. Upon return to the house, she had shoveled my driveway and brought a space heater to make sure that my pets were not cold. She went above and beyond to ensure that my pets and house were safe. I absolutely would recommend her more than anybody else for your pet care needs.
I’ve had the pleasure of having Sarah care for my dog, Ella, and my cat, KeKe, for many years. Whenever I’m away, I have complete peace of mind knowing my babies are in the best hands. I fully trust Sarah in my home — so much so that I’ve even given her her own key. Her love, dedication, and genuine passion for animals are truly remarkable, and I honestly can’t recommend anyone more highly. Sarah goes above and beyond every time, and I’m so grateful for everything she has done for my pets and for me.

Schedule
Pet care is not something I fit around another job. It is my full time profession, and I have intentionally built my daily schedule around providing reliable, attentive care for my clients and their pets. Because this is my business, I am able to plan my days with flexibility and prioritize consistency, routine, and comfort for the animals in my care. I am deeply passionate about both my work and the peace of mind it provides to pet owners. Caring for other people’s pets is something I take seriously, and I treat every visit with the same level of attention and responsibility I would expect for my own animals. With advance notice, I am available 24 seven for scheduled care, including overnights, drop ins, and extended visits. I also offer emergency visits for established clients when unexpected situations arise, subject to availability. This added flexibility allows my clients to feel supported, even when plans change. My goal is to be a dependable, long term care provider that pet owners can trust to be there when they need it most.
