I work full-time on a hybrid basis. When I am not working, I am always desperate to get out for walks and spend time with animals. I generally take my dogs on a long walk once a day but I am able to be flexible in terms of exercise requirements. My dogs get other mental stimulation daily in the house/garden, including being scatter-fed, playing with toys and chews, and training obedience.

Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet

If your pet has any special needs, please let me know and we can chat. As I have two dogs of my own and one of them is nervous, if the service you are interested in involves our pets interacting, I need to make sure that I am confident that everyone will be safe and comfortable. I am happy to do meet-and-greets and take things as slow as needed to suit individual animal's needs.

A typical day

1. Long walks in the nearby countryside - lots of good sniffing enrichment and an also space to leg it and burn some physical energy. 2. Obedience training - I have always found training dogs to be very rewarding. I am not suggesting that your pet needs extra training (or that they'll leave my house ready for Crufts) but I do find practicing basic obedience and tricks can be a good way to bond and build confidence, and tire dogs out! 3. Playing with toys in the garden. 4. Enrichment games.

Pet care experience

I got my first dog when I was 20 after unsuccessfully asking for a dog for Christmas every year for about 16 years straight. He, and his brother, are my best friends. I love adventuring outdoors and being surrounded by animals makes that even better. The most important thing for me in caring for animals is to be respectful and patient, and ensuring they have everything they need. My youngest dog is nervous and, as a result, can be quite a handful. This has lead me to research dog psychology and gain a decent understanding of animal behaviour.

Absolutely chuffed to bits with our experience with Emily! She is so friendly and warm, quick responses and fantastic communication. I really appreciated the updates and photos, and Emily was really flexible with me for drop off/pick up times which was a huge help. Really happy and will be booking Nelly in with Emily again, thank you so much!!

We’ve had a fantastic experience with Emily. She looked after our Olde Tyme Bulldog while we were away and it gave us real peace of mind. We especially appreciated the regular updates and photos she sent through, it was lovely to see how happy our dog was in her care. Communication was excellent throughout, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and attentive dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Emily was an absolute pleasure to communicate with, coming up see Betty prior to her stay. Betty had a great time socialising with other dogs, and came back in a happy mood. Will 100% be booking again with Emily if I go on holiday ☺️

Emily is a very loving dog person, she has lots of experience with her own dogs too. Emily has assisted in walking my (reactive) Patterdale terrier on a number of occasions. I would fully trust Emily to look after my dog and allow Emily into my home to do so. Emily will truly look after and care for your dogs.
