Pet care experience

Sit. Stay. Relax. I’ve Got This!

Pets have always been a big part of my life—they're family. Growing up, I was the kid who spent more time with animals than people, and that hasn’t changed much as an adult. Whether it was playing with my childhood dog, Lila—a sweet Sheltie I raised from a puppy—or now as a proud cat mom to Tucker and Newt, my love for animals has shaped who I am. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies learning the ropes of potty training to senior dogs needing medication and a gentle hand, I’ve done it all. I even taught Lila how to pull a sled during snowy winters—proof that I go above and beyond to connect with the animals in my care. While I once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, I realized that the hardest part—saying goodbye to pets—wasn’t something I could handle. Instead, I’ve dedicated myself to ensuring every animal I care for feels safe, loved, and happy. Friends and family often call me their “go-to” pet sitter, trusting me to provide the same love and attention they give their pets. One thing people notice right away is my calm energy, which seems to instantly put pets at ease. With my background in psychology, I know how to build trust and understand what each pet needs to feel comfortable. Whether it’s cuddling a nervous dog, caring for a senior cat, or making sure a playful pup gets enough exercise, I adapt to every pet’s personality and needs. I also pride myself on being an excellent communicator. While you’re away, I’ll keep you updated with messages, photos, and videos so you can see how happy and well-cared-for your furry family member is. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is in loving, capable hands. Every pet I care for is treated like family. Whether it’s belly rubs, walks in the park, or cozying up on the couch, I’m here to make sure your furry loved ones feel happy and cared for while you’re away.

Emily was the perfect person for my dog Butters when I went on a trip! This was my first time having someone staying at my house and it was great for my senior dog to be in a comfortable environment. She was super friendly and kind. She sent updates on their cuddle sessions, cute pics, took him for a pup cup and you can tell she really loves dogs! Also she left everything exactly how I left and was very communicative. Highly recommend Emily! Would absolutely love to have her watch my dog on my next trip away.

I couldn’t be happier with the care Floyd received. This was the first time we used Emily since our regular sitter was not available and we did not know what to expect. But Emily was kind, reliable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My pup was happy, relaxed, and well taken care of when I got home. I really appreciated the updates and photos—they gave me such peace of mind while I was away. I’ll definitely be booking again. She provided me with full update on all her closing tasks and the last meal Floyd had, his medication… my home was spotless. Laundry done. She was very good! Highly recommend!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I have a very open and flexible schedule, thanks to my remote, part-time job. This allows me to prioritize your pet’s care whenever it’s needed—whether it’s during the day for feeding and playtime or in the evening for medications and cuddles. Your pet’s well-being will always be my top priority, and I can easily adapt my day to meet their routine. As a proud cat mom to Tucker and Newt, pet care is already a big part of my life. From administering Tucker’s daily allergy medication to playing Newt’s favorite games, I’m used to creating a consistent and loving environment for animals. When caring for your pet, I’ll ensure they feel just as comfortable and cared for as my own. I’ll tailor my schedule to match your pet’s specific needs—whether that’s sticking to their familiar habits like feeding and playtimes or providing regular updates to keep you in the loop. With my flexible routine, you can trust that your pet will receive the attention and care they deserve. Pet care isn’t just part of my routine; it’s something I genuinely enjoy and value. I’m here to ensure your pet feels loved and happy, giving you peace of mind every step of the way.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

My top priority is your peace of mind and your pet’s happiness. I know every pet and home is unique, which is why I tailor my care to meet your specific needs. Whether I’m looking after your pet in my home or yours, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment where they feel loved and secure. In your home, I ensure your pet’s routine remains consistent. From feeding schedules to playtime and litter box upkeep, I handle it all with care and attention to detail. I treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean and tidy, and leaving everything just as you left it. If your pet is staying in my home, I create a cozy, welcoming space where they can relax and thrive. My own cats, Tucker and Newt, are friendly and social, but I always introduce new pets carefully to ensure everyone feels at ease. My home is designed with pets in mind—safe, clean, and full of comfortable spots for them to nap or play. To keep you at ease, I’ll provide regular updates, including messages, photos, and videos, so you’re always in the loop about how your pet is doing. Whether it’s a quick check-in or a detailed update, I want you to feel connected to your furry family member while you’re away. By focusing on safety, trust, and comfort, I aim to make every experience as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet. Let me know what works best for you, and I’ll tailor my care to meet your needs and give you peace of mind.

Pets

A typical day

A day with me is tailored to meet your pet’s unique personality and needs. Whether your pet loves playtime, snuggles, or quiet companionship, I’ll make sure they feel loved, entertained, and cared for throughout the day. For cats, a typical day might include interactive play sessions with their favorite toys, like feather wands or laser pointers, followed by plenty of cozy spots for lounging. If your cat enjoys a little outdoor time (on a leash or in a secure area), we can soak up some fresh air together. Of course, no day is complete without head scratches, chin rubs, or lap time—whatever your feline friend prefers. For dogs, I’ll ensure they get plenty of exercise and engagement. I love taking long walks and exploring new areas, so if there’s a park or forest nearby, we’ll definitely check it out on our walks. If your dog is up for it, I also enjoy taking pups out to a patio for a coffee or beer and some live music. It’s a fun way to keep them socialized, entertained, and relaxed while enjoying the outdoors. I also prioritize sticking to their usual routine, whether it’s meal times, medication schedules, or favorite daily rituals. After active time, we’ll wind down with belly rubs and quiet relaxation to keep them balanced and content. My goal is to make every day as fun and fulfilling as possible for your pet, so they feel like they’re on their own little vacation while staying safe and cared for.

To provide the best care possible, it’s important for me to get to know your pet and their unique needs before our time together. Here are a few things I like to learn ahead of time: - Routine & Preferences: What is your pet’s daily schedule like? This includes feeding times, walks, playtime, and bedtime routines. Are there any special activities or rituals they enjoy? - Health Needs: Does your pet have any medical conditions, allergies, or medications they need? I’m experienced with administering medications and will make sure their health needs are met with care and attention. - Temperament & Behavior: How does your pet interact with new people, other animals, or unfamiliar environments? Are they shy, energetic, or somewhere in between? Knowing this helps me tailor my approach to their comfort level. - Dietary Needs: Are there specific feeding instructions or dietary restrictions I should be aware of? Any favorite treats I can use to make them feel special? - Triggers & Fears: Does your pet have any fears or dislikes, such as loud noises, certain types of people, or specific situations? This helps me avoid unnecessary stress and keep them happy. - Social Preferences: Does your dog enjoy social outings, like patio visits or walks in busier areas, or do they prefer quiet, low-key environments? - Emergency Information: In case of an emergency, it’s helpful to have your vet’s contact information, as well as any additional details about how you’d like me to handle urgent situations. The more I know about your pet, the better I can ensure their safety, comfort, and happiness. My goal is to make them feel loved and cared for, just like they would with you.
