As a veterinary assistant, I am highly qualified to care for your furry pets in any realm! I’ve always had a love and adoration for animals so I promise I will treat your pet as my own. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor and an option in Pre-Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University. I just came back for the summer from Colorado where I acquired a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. I recently finished the first year of Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and plan to be a veterinarian some day! I am only back in California for the summer so I like to petsit while home! Working and learning in the vet med field, I have come to understand a great deal about dog and cat related biological functions as well as behavioral importance’s. I have dog and cat sat for family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers for 10 years and have loved every second of it. I own one cat in Fort Collins and have a beloved family dog in SoCal. I grew up with a lot rabbits and small rodents though :) I’ve had just about any pet you can think of! I am capable of completing any task needed from walking, feeding, bathing to hiking, dog parks, swimming, administering medications (injectables or oral), monitoring glucose rates, etc. I really do care about making sure your pet is happy and comfortable!

I can provide any services needed. My ten+ years experience in the veterinary field have allowed me to become adaptable to any situation and pet necessity. For example, if I housed a small dog they would live in my home as they would in there’s- I would keep their same feeding, walking, play, and exercise routines. The same would be for if I were staying at an owners house, I would keep it as consistent for the dog or cat as possible! I would also double check with an owner before taking any pet to the park or certain hiking areas. I would love a meet and greet first of course to make sure the owner and I are on the same page! Regardless though, your dog or cat will be well cared for and loved!

Emily was fantastic! Both our cat and rabbit were very comfortably with her. We were exceptionally relieved to find a sitter who knew how to care for rabbits. Our cat can be a handful, but she seemed to warm right up to Emily, despite needing regular medication. Emily provided thoughtful updates on a regular basis without prompting and was respectful of our home while we were away. I highly recommend her and hope to book with her again for future vacations. Emily did an amazing job taking care of my Simon and Pepper. She kept us updated, followed our pet/home guides, and left our place super clean which is always a great bonus. I will be booking her again. Thank you and Pepper misses you already!

Emily was amazing! She took such great care of my energetic doggies and sent tons of photo updates that put my mind at ease! She asked all the right questions and kept everything super tidy! It was so nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean home! You can really tell she loves what she does!

Emily is a pet-sitting all star!! She was very communicative, punctual, flexible. We got awesome photos and videos of her with each of our pets on a regular basis, and it was clear they weren’t photo shoots but genuine captures of the quality time she was spending with them. We felt very comfortable, and comforted, by how well she took care of our cat and medicine administration - after all she is a vet in training! We have a skittish dog who can take awhile to warm up to new faces, especially when we’re not present, so it was pretty incredible to see her on the couch and affectionate with Emily!! Emily has a way with animals and is a friendly, lovely person to interact with as well. She’s going to be an amazing vet!! We felt lucky to have her at our home. Oh, and she even washed the sheets and towels before we got home! Six stars. :)

Schedule
I am a full-time graduate student at CSU but have dog and cat sat many times while being a student. I care for my own friends/families pets and friends nearby! I tend to either spend the night or visit their pets two to three times daily (depending on owner preference). So, close proximity is a must for me to be able to visit as much as possible. I am able to stay over in peoples homes all days of the week!
