Loving Home 🐾 Senior Dogs 🐾 24/7

Hi, nice to meet you :) We are WoeiJing (pronounced WAY-JING) and Mark, based in Novato, offering in-home dog boarding with 24/7 care in a nature-surrounded and loving environment. We specialise in senior dog care, hospice dogs, and low-energy dogs who thrive in a quiet, home-based setting (not kennels or high-volume dog environments). We share our home with our toddler and our resident senior golden retriever, and have lovingly cared for multiple senior and hospice dogs, two of whom crossed the rainbow bridge in February 2026. This experience deeply shapes the way we care for every dog: with patience, gentleness, and presence. ✨ WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT We live in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood in Novato. We are on the edge of a 500+ acre nature preserve. We’re the right fit for you and your dog if you are… ⭐Looking for a spacious home environment with exceptional standards of care ⭐Wanting a clean, sanitised and safe space for your dog - with daily 'housekeeping' (daily washing of bowls, daily change of blankets/bedding, daily vacuum, wiping muddy/sandy paws, etc!). For stays of more than 2 weeks, we have a professional team of housekeepers that come in to clean and sanitise our home! ⭐Intentional about making sure your dog is not surrounded by an overwhelming number of other dogs or kept in a kennel all day ⭐Aware that your dog enjoys being indoors with lots of natural sunlight and cuddles ⭐Dog boarding in a real family home (with a toddler + gentle senior dog) ✨ IMPORTANT TO NOTE Because we have: - A toddler in the home - A senior resident dog - A focus on calm, safe environments We are selective and prioritise: 👉 Gentle temperaments 👉 Non-aggressive dogs 👉 Dogs that integrate well into a home setting This ensures safety and a peaceful stay for every dog. 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗣𝗨𝗣𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 🐶 Please click 'CONTACT SITTER’ to check your dates as sometimes the Rover Calendar has a glitch and doesn't display when I am available. Best thing is to drop me a note :) 🐶 Puppy and High-energy: Due to our home having a toddler and senior dogs, we can’t have puppies or dogs with high energy out of an abundance of caution. 🐶 Please ensure your dog is up to date on vaccinations and flea/tick remedies as we live surrounded by lots of nature and want to ensure the health and well-being of all dogs under our care. If they need to have flea/tick applied during their stay, please let us know. 🐶We appreciate you planning ahead of time to schedule a Meet and Greet and, where possible, a trial stay, so that your dog has plenty of time to adjust to our home environment. We know this isn't always possible with last minute work travel, change of plans or when driving up from other areas of the country - we are able to conduct Virtual Meet and Greets on ZOOM if you are not from the area. 🐶We DO NOT accept aggressive dogs or any dogs that do not get along with other dogs as we have our own resident dog and we also provide care throughout the year to other dogs who may be smaller in size and senior in age. We want to ensure that our home is comfortable, caring and above all....SAFE for your dogs as well as for those who they'll be spending lots of time with! We do not provide care for any aggressive dogs, including leash reactive, because of the risk it presents to other dogs in our neighbourhood as well as to our own and other boarding guests. We are unable to care for dogs with extreme separation anxiety that presents destructive behaviour/barking or constant care and soothing. 🐶 Emergency Situations If you are traveling, please provide us with another name and contact should you be uncontactable. Please also ensure your veterinary information is up to date. In emergency situations, we will bring your pup to the closest veterinary hospital located to us and will loop your vet with the medical team. 🐶 Damage to Property If your pup presents destructive behaviour or has damaged property in some way, there will be an extra charge applied to stay depending on the price of replacement or fixing. 🐶 Communications We do our best to respond to your messages throughout the day and will provide photos throughout the duration of their stay as well. I am mindful of bedtimes and will not text past 10:00PM unless there’s an emergency.

Mark and Emily went above and beyond to care for our dog. We got multiple updates and photos per day. We have a high maintenance dog and Emily and Mark handled everything with care and professionalism. They are well versed in doggy body language and will make sure your dog is happy and healthy throughout their stay. I’d highly recommend them to anyone.

Emily and Mark are simply the best! They welcome our pup with open arms and he definitely feels at home with them. We get lovely updates and photos whenever they keep Winston and always send him home happy and healthy. They are lovely, thoughtful and caring towards all animals, both their own dogs and those in their care. Winston looks forward to every stay with them! thank you Emily and Mark!!

If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would! Emily and Mark took great care of our Mini Schnauzer. He has to adhere to a very specific diet, and Emily and Mark were very thorough about understanding his needs, personality, activity preferences, etc. They also shared so many great photos during his stay. We would absolutely book with them again.

Doggy Day Care • Apr 23, 2023

Emily and Mark took amazing care of our dog, Bennie! He went on several walks and adventures, got to lounge inside and get pets, and was nice and tired at the end of the day. We received regular photo updates of his day’s activities. Highly recommend!

Schedule

Caring for pups are part of our daily life. One or both of us are home the majority of the time, and we intentionally structure our schedules around the dogs in our care. We do not take on dog walking or drop-in clients, which allows us to provide consistent, attentive care in a calm home environment. Our days are slow-paced and home-based, with regular potty breaks, short walks, rest time, and lots of supervision and companionship, especially suited for senior or low-energy dogs.

Safety, trust & environment

𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 We do not have a backyard (we're on a hill!) but we do take safety, trust and environment seriously. Before our front doors are opened, your dog will be leashed and while on walks, their leash will be connected to our waist strap for added security. We have the ability to separate our home because we have a senior rescue dog (who behaves more like a cat) and she likes her own space and is rather fragile. You're welcome to bring a playpen, crate and your dogs bedding for us if you feel your dog is more of an introvert and needs their time and space. Our home is a double storey, four bedroom home with plenty of room and space to roam around. We currently take up 1 dog for boarding in addition to our own resident pups who are senior and hospice dogs that we welcome and love on before they let us know it's time to cross the rainbow bridge. We adopt hospice dogs from shelters and rescue organisations. During fire season, we shorten walks due to the poor air quality that may affect or irritate the dogs eyes, nose, etc. For health emergencies, we are located near various Pet Emergency Hospitals such as the Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin which is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Emily & Mark can host up to 1 pet per night
1. Is your dog potty trained? What's their schedule? 2. What’s his/her feeding schedule? 3. Can I give your dogs treats? If so, what kind? 4. Is your dog friendly with other dogs, adults and children? 5. Any medical problems? 6. Any other information you want to give me about your dog? 7. Any quirks? 8. Are they anxious without someone around for a little while? (Sometimes we run errands!) 9. What is their bark frequency? What triggers them? 10. Are they up to date on vaccinations? (We care for multiple dogs in our home and want to support everyone's health and well-being during their stay)! To make it an enjoyable stay for your dog, please let me know if your dog has any special needs or mannerisms I should be aware of. Out of respect for my neighbours, I do not host dogs who are persistent barkers. We also are unable to care for dogs with extreme separation anxiety that presents destructive behaviour.
