Safety, trust & environment

I live in a studio apartment in a quiet, dog-friendly building. Unless otherwise instructed, pets will have full access to my apartment, including the couch and bed. If your dog is crate trained, he/she will be in the crate when I am not home and during sleep hours (if he/she sleeps in the crate at night). At night, your dog is welcome to sleep wherever he/she desires whether that be the couch, his/her dog bed, or on my bed (I am all about making your fur baby feel as comfortable as possible!)

Information Emily M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about allergies, leash habits, triggers, if they are crate-trained, what their routine looks like overall. We will plan a call a week prior to your dog’s stay with me to go through routine, foods, meds, etc. so that any questions are answered prior to arrival. I am a big fan of communication, so the more you share with me, the better and vice versa.

A typical day

I will try my best to stick with whatever feeding and walking schedules you have your pup on to maintain their routine. Your pup will receive at least two 30-minute walks a day and a few relief-walks throughout the day as needed/at night before bed. If they require more/longer walks, please be sure to let me know! If I am sitting your dog during the weekends, or holidays, I will also take them to Chateau le Woof in Astoria (with your permission) which is a dog-friendly café about a 20-minute walk from my apartment. It’s also great way to exercise and stimulate dogs so if my work schedule allows, we will take a trip there during the week too! I will send a morning update and a ‘goodnight’ update (both will include pictures of course). But feel free to text or call with any questions/requests for more pics or additional updates. And of course, the photo content will just not stop; because as my profile states, I am a big fan of pictures!

Pet care experience

I have cared for more dogs than I can count over the years (whether it be through caring for my own or fostering or dog sitting or all three at once - a crazy time indeed!). After losing my soul dog of more than 10.5 Years, Jax, I am looking forward to welcoming your pup into my home as if they were my own while making some extra money so that I can continue to fund my foster efforts!

Emily is amazing! She was extremely communicative, asked questions if anything was unclear or she was unsure, and provided constant updates and photos and videos. You can tell she truly loves caring for dogs and treats them like they’re her own. She also takes amazing photos. I will definitely be booking her again in the future!

I have known Emily for over 7 years. For as long as I have known her she has loved dogs. Seeing her adopt and care for her first dog as well as foster a dog, I have first hand knowledge of how she interacts with dogs in a gentle and loving way. Emily maintains a lot of patience with dogs and is serious about training and the benefits for both the human and dog. She'd be a great caretaker for any lucky dog!

Emily has been a lover of all dogs for as long as I have known her. She stops walking no matter where she is to greet any dog she can. Watching her foster dogs is admirable and I know the hardest part for her is saying goodbye, but she always shed happy tears because she knows she is providing the dogs the best life possible and can open her home to another foster – something that not many people can do. She would be the perfect sitter for your doggo!
