Animal lover at your service
I love having animals in my life! Being able to spend time with your pet, walk your dog or take them to the beach is such a joy and medicine for me. I just moved here from Sonoma county, where I had many long-term petsitting clients. A little about me personally: I have a strong meditation practice, have lived residentially as a zen student and at Insight Retreat Center in Santa Cruz as the landscape manager. I'm a wilderness and plant lover, guide contemplative backpacking trips, and currently keep a small private practice as a nature-based psychotherapist. I'm happy to look after the garden, too! I am very active and am happy to go for a walks or runs with your dog or to study in the company of a furry friend.

We had a very stressful experience leaving our dogs with Emily. We cannot recommend Emily for any dog sitting that requires a high degree of supervision. We have a very smart, high-energy dog - a point we emphasized repeatedly. Despite a prior meet-and-greet and detailed instructions about our dog, multiple safety failures occurred. Our dog managed to access food and overeat on at least three occasions during the stay - which led to vomiting and diarrhea. We found out our dog also ate an entire container of multivitamins, and even escaped the house, running unattended in the middle of a highway for 13 minutes. Emily only communicated these incidents post-hoc: notifying us several hours later or the next day rather than when they occurred. While our dog thankfully didn't need emergency medical care, the delayed communication meant we couldn't make that decision when it counted. Emily may be fine for low-maintenance pets, but she lacked the necessary attention and vigilance for ours. We have used Rover for years and worked with many sitters, but we have never experienced this level of negligence before.
Emily is so great! She took wonderful care of our pup as always with lots of walks, took good care of our house, sent us updates with photos and communicated well. Always happy to rebook with her!

Emily did a great job with my 11 year old pointer mix. He's a little grumpy in old age but he fell for Emily and he actually looked disappointed when I returned. I will definitely rebook with Emily.

Emily was amazing! First and foremost, she was super accommodating and communicative as far as logistics and scheduling - she was prompt to respond to my late booking request (over NYE, to boot!) and went above and beyond in working with me to coordinate drop off/pickup of Chuck at various points over his stay. She was also great with providing updates and pics of Chuck so we got our fill of him even while separated. She even threw in some hiking/dining recs on top of everything else! Would def consider using Emily again if we find ourselves back in the area.
