I only provide care outside of my own home. In home care where the pets are in their own routine is what I do best. Stick to their routines.
Information Emily K. would like to know about your pet
It’s always so nice when I’m told how the dog does out on walks beforehand. Any pulling or how they are with other animals. All tricks or routines that help with administering medicine or anything to to keep them calm and comfortable is always welcome. Their routines for bed and how early they get up are good to know as well
A typical day
A typical day with the dogs looks like a morning potty break, medicine (if necessary) food then a walk. A mile is about the average walk length I go. Most of the time the places I go are just around neighborhoods or the recommended trails. It all depends on the place.

Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Emily Kester, and I’ve been providing trusted pet and house care for over 14 years! What began as helping neighbors and family has grown into a passion-driven career that allows me to travel the U.S. while caring for animals and homes with genuine love and attention. Over the years, I’ve become known as the “go-to caretaker” — the person people can count on to handle it all: dog walking, cat sitting, overnight stays, plant watering, medication administration, grooming, and home upkeep. I take pride in treating every pet and home as if they were my own, creating a calm, consistent environment that makes each client feel at ease while they’re away. Today, I work professionally through Rover and combining my lifelong love for animals with my independent, travel-based lifestyle. This work allows me to stay connected to what I value most — freedom, connection, and care — while growing my creative career in photography, design, and film. When I’m not taking care of pets, I’m usually capturing beautiful spaces and stories through my camera or working on design projects. My flexible schedule ensures that every animal in my care gets the full attention, affection, and consistency they deserve. It brings me so much joy to build lasting relationships with pets and their people — this isn’t just a side job for me, it’s truly a lifestyle I love and care deeply about.
Reviews

Emily has great communication, a positive outlook, and she rolled with whatever presented itself during her time caring for our dogs! I definitely recommend her!

We were fortunate to find Emily. She did a great job in watching our dogs and house sitting. She even offered to mow the lawn. We will definitely use Emily in the future.

Emily K did so great with our little Yorkie. We were gone for nearly two weeks to Hawaii, and it was our first time leaving our nearly 3 year old dog for more than a day. We were so worried. But we didn't need to worry because Emily did everything perfectly!! She not only did everything with our dog that was asked, but went above and beyond, like extra walks, play time, keeping us updated daily with fantastic photos and videos, and even cleaning the house! We will definitely use Emily again when we travel.

Emily is so wonderful! She house sat my 22 year old cat over a long weekend and provided top tier care, making sure to provide the extra attention that my senior baby needed to have a relaxing weekend while I was away. So thankful for the help and will be booking with Emily again!
