Boarding, Grooming, and Training
Welcome to Auntie Em's: Now accepting new clients! We have provided 5 star services to our guests on Rover since 2021 and would be happy for your pup to join our family! We have provided 5 star services to our guests on Rover since 2021. Prior to joining rover, experience includes: pet sitting and daycare prior to joining Rover, work at city humane shelters, volunteer experiences with no-kill rescue shelters, and training in pet 1st aid, cpr, medication administration, pet behaviors, managing pet anxiety. Experience with senior pets, pets with high medical needs, blind pets, deaf pets, pets who need extra behavioral support, puppies, basic training. Emily recently completed grooming training with a full apprenticeship. We are adding grooming services as an optional add-on to boarding or daycare service. *Contact me to add Grooming or Training services to your boarding/daycare* *Extras like Puppy Pawtys, Photoshoots, Baths, Trim-and-Tidy and MORE can be scheduled for you and added on. Contact me for additional information* The Auntie Em’s vacation experience: *All pups are given their own “space,” usually a common room in the house separated by gates. This is where they, keep their special toys and have 1-1 human time! *Friendly pets have free roam of the house and will use their space when feeling overwhelmed or during feeding times. *Dogs that are high anxiety or dislike other dogs usually choose to spend more time in their room because it feels safe. We try to give them quieter spaces. If they can’t interact with other animals, or don’t like too many people they get some extra human time. *Potty breaks are usually every 2-3 hours (though, if you need more let us know). First time out is around 5-6 AM. Last time out is around 8pm-9pm. If your baby struggles to “hold it” overnight, let me know and I will wake up with them to let them out. There are several sitters available on Rover and options of traditional boarding, so we try to stand out. We’re special because: --Enrichment activities daily–no upcharge– Examples: *Frozen kongs*Puzzles*Games*Walks* --Exercise– Two acres of land (though only a small portion is fenced) Nearby walking/nature trails Rainy-day indoor games --Home atmosphere-- *freedom to roam* *comfy furniture* *almost constant human interaction* --Kennels only used when necessary:-- As a Den/Safe space (doors left open) At parent request Medically or Behaviorally Necessity --Individualized attention– 1-1 human time --Group play dates when appropriate– socialization outdoor and indoor activities --Just like Home– tell us your routines, schedules and rules and we will do our best to follow --Regular updates with pictures-- --Trained in dog 1st aid and CPR-- --Events for your pet FAQ How many pets do I keep? I frequently have several guests at a time. My limit is 3 “packs” with a total of no more than 5 visitors. I have limited space for “bigger” dogs 40lb+ dogs so book early Do I have my own pets? I do have pets of my own–see their descriptions for details Who is in the home? Our home has 6 humans: Josh. Emily and children aged 14, 15, 18, 19. There is always someone available for belly rubs! What is the “Holiday Rate”? I take your pet and their stay seriously. My services do not decrease because of the “busy-ness” of the holidays. This means that I will have to take time away from family and activities in order to provide the care your pups expect. As any other employee receives holiday pay, the rates during the holidays increase. Holidays often fill up quickly, I will often have a waiting list. I can “hold” a space for you, but will check in regularly to make sure you still know it Should you bring a crate? If your dog is used to crates and uses it as a “den,” please make sure there is one available for them. I have 2 medium, 1 small and 1 extra large crate. If you think your pet will need a crate to feel comfy they can use what we have available or bring their own. If you have a pet that exceeds what I have I ask you to bring their crate. Why Rover Fees? Peace of mind. Rover offers a “guarantee” for my guests. The Rover Guarantee reimburses members of our community for costs arising from certain injuries to the Rover pet or resident pet that occur during a service booked and paid through Rover. It also includes 24/7 Rover Support. Bookings off Rover do not offer this support and Pet Owners are responsible for all costs arising from their pet’s stay. Both Owners and Sitters pay a “fee” to Rover to continue this support. We've updated our services recently and now offer additional add-ons to your pet's stay. Currently all services are offered at a very discounted rate as we appreciate honest feedback on services offered. *Nail Clipping or Teeth Brushing: $10 (both for 15)* *Just-a-Bath (wash/dry): $15* *Complete Clean: (wash/dry/nail clip/paw pads/sanitary trim): $20* *Trim&Tidy: (wash/dry/nails/paw pads/sanitary/face and feet trim) $25* *Puppy Groom Training: (puppies under 6mo–acquainting puppies with grooming equipment and experience while getting squeaky clean) $35* *Basic Full Groom:(wash, dry, full body cut/trim) $35* *Base price; price will vary depending size, behavior and services provided **Due to equipment restrictions and availability we are unable to offer services to pups over 45lbs or pups that need an extra “handler” during grooming process.

We couldn't have imagined a better first experience for our precious pup. He was treated with love and kindness. Emily and Josh are really the best. We're looking forward to Haz spending time with them again.

Thanks for watching our fur babies again. Thanks for the daily pictures. Thanks for the briefing on their interactions and THANKS for the tuckered out terriers!

I can’t thank you enough for take care of my daughter as you did…we will definitely back to you 🙏🥹❤️

Another wonderful boarding. Thank you for taking us at the last minute.

We boarded Bo with Emily and Josh over the Christmas holiday and he was welcomed as a member of their home. We received daily updates including pictures, stories, and addressing a minor medical issue. We loved our experience!

Emily and Josh are the best!! This was my dog’s first overnight experience outside of our home so I was very nervous for how things would go and if he’d be comfortable. Emily and Josh do a great job and creating a space for the dogs to roam, explore and just feel safe in a new place and my fur baby loved his entire time there! They kept us informed during the visit, sending videos and photos and we could tell the pure joy he had there with the other sweet dogs playing and lounging around. I would absolutely send him back again and have full trust that he’s loved, in great hands, and will get endless belly rubs throughout the day :)

My husband or I are home full time. I have recently begun work which takes me out of the house part-time. Josh works from home and pups tend to spend the day under his desk while he works. We have church Sundays from 10a-1p and Thursday evening 630p-830p. We also have occasional practice/concert/shows for our children that we attend (I will tell you if one is planned during booking process). These are the only time pups would be unattended by an adult.

Pups are given their own space for feeding, keeping their special toys/beds and being able to take space from the people/animals in the home. Friendly dogs are welcome anywhere in the home, though my oldest dog (16 y/o Maltese) is fragile so we do not force interactions with new friends, instead giving him space and companionship when he needs to isolate. My middle pup (4 y/o Schipperke mix) often chooses to remain with my older pup. He prefers animals smaller than him to play with and is very gentle. My baby (3 y/o chihuahua mix) is a BARKER when we meet new friends. She will immediately engage in play: chasing, barking, jumping and "mothering" by herding visitors. This can be a lot, especially for shy dogs. Because of this we allow our new friends time to adjust to the house and people before introductions. Our newest baby is 5lbs of bossy toddler-puppy. She runs and plays and chews and barks and tries to be the boss of everything. She is completely unaware that she is a bite-sized treat for most other dogs so we have to monitor her interactions with others while she continues her training.

We love cuddles and play time! I enjoy active games (fetch, tug, ect) and mental stimulation (puzzles and such). There is a walking trail near our home that we frequent. There are several dog parks within a short drive of our home.
