Safety, trust & environment
We have a 5 foot fence in the backyard and the deck has 4 stairs down to the grass. For drop ins, it might be occasionally necessary for the younger children to come along. Pets that live with kids or have frequent and continual contact with young children fit our family best. We use a crate you provide for the brief times when no one can be home to ensure your pet is safe.

Information Emily & Jim H. would like to know about your pet
Your dog(s) must be tolerant of the attentions of younger children. People are always coming and going--we would not be the right family for a dog who is averse to lots of movement and loud noise. Dogs must be ok with being crated for short periods of time when we are all out, and pups that know to potty when allowed into the backyard fit our lifestyle. Unfortunately dogs who like to find inedibles like socks, nerf darts, shoes, and stuffed animals to chew will not be a good fit for our household at this time, and likewise we can not offer care to puppies in our home at this time.
A typical day
Emily and the kids like to hike and visit the park as part of our homeschooling day. Family-friendly neighborhood and older kids means lots of opportunities for walks. Short trips in the car to take kids to and from their activities round out the experience.

Our Focus is Your Family's Pets
Pet care experience
8 years of Rover and counting! We are an energetic family of 8 (mom and dad plus 6 kids ages 7-24 yrs) who homeschool and are mostly home during the day. After 15 years of owning dogs and cats, we live with two cats in a large home in Papillion with a big fenced yard. Because we are a homeschooling family, taking good care of your pet will be part of the lesson plan; a daily walk weather permitting, playing in the yard, going on errands in the car, trips to the park in good weather, and little boys to snuggle to sleep with are part of the fun. Also available for doggie daycare, cat and dog drop-ins very close by, and caring for caged pets. Overnights are calculated in 24 hour increments. If you need to drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon or evening, day care rates will apply. Pick up/drop off hours are 8am-9pm. Please clarify what time you plan to drop off and pick up at the time of booking to be sure we are available and that your stay is priced correctly.

Reviews

Thank you for always taking such great care of Stella, we love all the updates, and she loves you guys!

Emily and Jim are so wonderful with my picky poodle that it’s hard to tell if he wants to go home. I have complete peace of mind when I leave him in their care.

Miss Bailey was well looked after for the week we were gone. The family works together to help insure the dogs are safe and comfortable. Emily was very accommodating and a cheerful person to work with. We normally share sitting turns with our neighbors, but we’re out of town at the same time. With short notice Emily fit us in so we could go see our granddaughter be born. The family was fantastic. I would highly recommend Emily and Jim for your fur baby needs! James and Mary.

As always, we know our cats are well taken care of by Emily and Jim. They will continue to be our first choice in pet sitters for us!
