Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule as a personal trainer. I often have breaks throughout the day that allow me to provide midday walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with pets while their owners are away. I’m already used to building my schedule around the needs of others, whether that’s my clients or their pets, and I love having animals as part of my day. Outside of work, I’m an active person who enjoys running and spending time outdoors, so I especially enjoy helping dogs get exercise and enrichment. For cats, I love taking the time to provide calm companionship, playtime, and care that keeps them comfortable in their own home.

I follow your instructions closely for feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, and any special preferences your pet may have. Helpful information includes their feeding schedule, exercise routine, favorite activities, temperament, comfort level with new people, and any behaviors or quirks I should be aware of. I also like to know about medications, health concerns, emergency contacts, and anything that helps them feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. Every pet is different, and understanding their normal routine allows me to provide care that feels familiar, consistent, and stress-free.
A typical day
I love tailoring activities to each pet’s personality, energy level, and comfort zone. For dogs, that might mean a fun walk around the neighborhood, exploring new smells, playing fetch, practicing basic commands, or getting some extra playtime and attention. As a runner and active person, I especially enjoy helping dogs get the exercise and enrichment they need. I have even taken some dogs on runs with me! For cats, I know fun looks a little different! I love spending time with them through interactive play with toys, gentle attention, brushing if they enjoy it, and giving them the time and space to feel comfortable. Whether a pet is playful and energetic or prefers a quiet visit with lots of cuddles, my goal is to make their time away from their owner feel positive and stress-free.

I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs and cats, including overnight stays, drop-in visits, dog walking, feeding routines, playtime, litter box care, and administering medications. I’ve cared for pets with a variety of personalities and needs — from energetic dogs who need extra exercise to shy cats who need patience and time to feel comfortable. For many years, I provided in-home pet sitting, including staying overnight in clients’ homes and maintaining pets’ normal routines while their owners were away. I currently have two long-term clients whose homes I continue to stay in regularly, but now that I have my own pet at home, I am focusing on drop-in visits and walks for new clients. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and cared for while keeping their routines as consistent as possible. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and your home, and I treat every animal as if they were my own.

Emily has been consistently, over a number of years, providing incredibly loving and awesome care for our dog, Archie. Archie LOVES Emily, probably more than his own family. She's an outdoor person and he loves walks, hikes and runs and she is more than happy to oblige. She's really great about keeping us up to date on his well-being, sending pics and frequent reports of how he's doing. Archie pretty much threateningly barks at anyone that comes into our house, except her and that's due to his comfort with how she keeps him healthy and happy. I really can't say enough good. She's 1000% our go-to and Archie would have no one else! We are really to have Emily as a doggie caregiver for when work or pleasure takes us to places he can't join. Highly recommend Emily as a doggie caregiver!
