I am currently home for most of the day on most days and can easily adjust my schedule to care for your dog. I have a dog gate if your dog does better confined to a smaller space, and am also ok with them being free throughout the house.

I have a rowhouse in South Philly. There are no other pets in the house and I do not smoke. I am fine with dogs on furniture and sleeping on the bed with me. I am used to keeping food and other temptations out of reach. I love snuggling and playing and going on walks with dogs.

Dogs are my favorite people
Pet care experience
I've had dogs for over 15 years. Both of my dogs were about 60 lb pitbulls, but I have cared for tiny dogs and larger dogs, as well. I think of dogs as people and pay close attention to their needs and likes. I love taking them on walks and to the park (if you are comfortable). My dogs used to love going to the big open parks in NJ. I am currently without my own dog and would love to care for yours.

Hazel had a wonderful time with Emily! After our original sitter had to cancel, Emily stepped in and made sure that Hazel was comfortable and cared for. Emily kept us in the loop with pictures and videos and gave us peace of mind that Hazel was having a great time. Pick up and drop off was seamless and Hazel settled right in. We are so happy to have found Emily just in the nick of time and look forward to working with her again!
Finding someone to care for a tiny, high-energy, opinionated senior dog is no small task—but Emily handled it beautifully. My 12-year-old terrier/Chihuahua mix is equal parts lovebug and alarm system. She’s very barky, extremely alert, and still has the energy of a dog half her age. Not everyone knows how to read or manage that combination, but this sitter clearly does. From the start, they were patient, attentive, and completely unfazed by her vocal personality. What stood out most was their ability to strike the perfect balance: playful and engaging when she needed stimulation, but calm and reassuring when she got overstimulated. They respected her boundaries, kept her routine consistent, and made sure she felt safe—which, really made a big difference. I also appreciated the regular updates, which showed not just what she was doing, but that they genuinely understood her quirks. It’s such thoughtful experienced care. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, patient, and capable of handling a small dog with a big personality (and an even bigger bark), I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Emily.
