Pet-Obsessed Shelter Volunteer
Saying I love animals doesn't even begin to describe it! I've had dogs my entire life, but have been dogsitting for friends, family and coworkers for the last 13 years. I’m a longtime volunteer at Seattle Animal Shelter as a dog walker and dog behavior team member, so I have experience with a wide variety of dogs and their quirks. I trained with a dog behaviorist to work with more challenging dogs in the shelter environment and use positive reinforcement training methods only, no exception. I was also a foster parent before adopting my sassy old lady, first fostering puppies (and getting really good at potty training!), before moving on to senior dogs who were struggling in the shelter. I've been vegan for a decade and know that animals are sentient beings with their own likes and dislikes, schedules they like to adhere to, and more — and I make sure to meet the pet where they're at. Emily was excellent with my two cats, and my cats seemed to love her! Even my skittish one came out of hiding to check her out, lol. I would definitely recommend her!
Emily is incredibly knowledgeable about pets, their behavior, and their individual needs. I trust her completely to care for any animal, including reactive dogs or those with special needs. She has taken care of my reactive dog, Scout, when I’ve gone out of town, and it gives me peace of mind knowing my pup is safe and happy with her while I’m away. Emily is one of the few people I trust to watch Scout, and he absolutely loves her!
Emily is extraordinarily conscientious. When she cared for our dog, Leo, she met with us beforehand to get to know him, to ask questions about his care, and to familiarize herself with our neighborhood. We were so grateful for Emily's assistance, and Leo loved her. Emily is communicative, responsible, and experienced working with many types of dogs, having volunteered at a local animal shelter for four years. She's fantastic!

Schedule
I work remotely on East Coast hours — my schedule has plenty of flexibility! I'm happy to accomodate based on your pet's needs and schedule.
